Über mich

I’m a dedicated educator with experience working in elementary and middle schools in the U.S., supporting students of all abilities, including those with special needs. I am TEFL-certified through TEFL.org and have extensive experience tutoring English, essay writing, and test prep (including ACT and GED).

Since moving to the Netherlands a year ago, I’ve been embracing Dutch culture, history, and language while continuing to help students reach their full potential. As a native English speaker currently learning Dutch, I understand the challenges of learning a new language firsthand and bring patience, empathy, and adaptability to every lesson.

I teach students of all ages and levels, including adults learning business English or preparing to travel to English-speaking countries. My lessons are personalized and engaging, incorporating students’ hobbies and interests, and always meeting them where they are. To start we will first talk about your experience and current skill level and then look at where you could improve on. We will discuss which areas you want to focus on, where I can prepare materials for you to get you more secure in speaking and writing the language depending on what your goal is!
I will then personally create and structure the lessons for you and help you wherever possible :)

Some sort of Homework or exercise will be introduced but of course in a fun way. If you want to focus on writing I can give you practice writing exercises and we can go over these together!

Always wanted to learn Spanish, but the regular lessons go too fast and/or it doesn't stick, then follow these tailor-made lessons.

Why class for 40+, because we have learned from our own experience how difficult it is to learn another language later in life and that most books/courses are based for younger students.

All lessons are adapted to your individual needs and speed.

You do not need to purchase any books, all materials will be delivered by email. This is because we work with several books and in this way we can offer a lot of learning material and thus make the learning material varied (and also rehearse more often if necessary.)

There is no minimum or maximum number of lessons, you are the one who determines the frequency. Of course you can also do these lessons with your partner.

Lessons are given online via Skype and last 1.5 hours at a time.
Lessons can be given during the day or in the evening.

As a student who graduated from the European School, I have gained a lot of knowledge in different languages. Having learnt Greek, German, English, French, and even a bit of Italian, I have become familiar with the ways and mechanisms of teaching a language. I have always been passionate about writing and believe a lot in the importance of writing abilities to help individuals mentally, and the same counts for speaking and reading. Language is a form of self-expression that is of utmost importance to life, and I believe everyone should have the opportunity to learn these skills.

Additionally, as a political science student at the University of Amsterdam, I offer help with history and sociology lessons, having studied both these subjects with a lot of passion for many years.
