Spanish, and English as a second language tutor (test prep available)

I am Laura , a Spanish woman living in The Hague. I have been teaching and helping high school students with their homework and study methods since 2014 as a private tutor. I have experience as a language teacher in different schools in Madrid (extracurricular activities) for children between 3 and 10 years old. I work as a Spanish teacher since 2019 in various countries, helping numerous students to improve their speaking, listening and writing skills. I studied Nutrition and Dietetics (4 years bachelor)at Complutense University of Madrid and Linguistics in Leiden University. Depending on the goal, the learning or lesson method is different. Normally, the first day I meet the student and we talk about what he or she expects and the topics we need to pay more attention. From that, I organise and structure a learning plan for reaching the desired goals (listening, speaking, writing, etc) or level (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2).

I specialize in teaching both English and maths for all ages, I have worked with children from the age of five for tutoring. I plan each tutorial individually based on every student's learning goals and can be adapted at any stage for better performance.

Studying currently at Leiden University College. I realized that taking the International Baccalaureate Programme (IB) during High School, not only prepared me for university but also equipped me with research and analysis skills, allowing me to be a better professional in the future. Nevertheless, I am aware that this programme is also extremely challenging, and most students, just as I did, need some guidance throughout the process. Here, I may come in to help you. During IB, some of the subjects I took were: 1) Psychology Standard Level (receiving 6 as my final examination grade) 2) Psychology Extended Essay (receiving A as my final examination grade) 3) English B Higher Level (receiving 7 as my final examination grade) 4) Polish A: Literature Standard Level (receiving 7 as my final examination grade) 4) Mathematics Analysis and Approaches Standard Level (receiving 6 as my final examination grade) 5) Biology Higher Level (receiving 5 as my final examination grade) 6) Theory of Knowledge Final Essay (receiving B as my final examination grade) I can be a mentor and serve as help for students writing their Internal Assessments in the subjects mentioned above, as well as when writing the Extended Essay in Psychology, or the Theory of Knowledge Essay. I may also tutor, in preparation for the exams, or to explain specific topics from: Psychology, Biology, Polish, English B, or Theory of Knowledge. In this lesson I aim to help students with their conversational skills. If you’re looking to improve your Spanish, you have an exam or are travelling abroad, this could be a good option. My system consists in: 1. objective definition 2. Execution through in class practice 3. Feedback 4. Study/review by the student And repeat. By knowing your goals; weak points for improvement, the class can be oriented in that direction. If you still don’t know your goals (for example: practicing shopping conversation, or improving use of grammar), the class will provide with the observations and feedback needed to improve your level of Spanish.

I am a professional English teacher with over 8 years experience in various teaching roles. I have experience of teaching all ages from 3 up to 65+ in group classes or 1-on-1. Specific purpose teaching such as public speaking or business English also taught. I will always make the class exciting, fun and full of laughter. I think people learn better when they are engaged and enjoying themselves. I have a wide variety of teaching materials too as I currently teach online to Chinese schoolchildren for some hours of the day. I am incredibly flexible and will have a conversation with you before the class to see what learning environment will work best for you or your child. Homework can be set too. I have just come back to Europe after spending 3 years in South Korea as a teacher to children aged 5 - 18. If you have ambitions to become an international businessperson, it’s essential that you’re able to speak English fluently. I'm a native of Spanish and English and proficient in Mandarin Chinese (HSK6). I completed my Chinese studies in 2019 in Harbin, China. I have been working as a Spanish, English, and Mandarin Chinese tutor online for two years and work at the Confucius Institute of the Dominican Republic as a mandarin tutor throughout 2019-2020. Over the last year, I have had over 250 students from all over the world and 1000 lessons. More than 100 out of 250 students are kids aged 5-15. For the kids, I will always prepare some extra material, and having a parent during the first lesson is always recommended ;) My main aim is to make you feel comfortable during our lessons, create a comfortable setting for you, and modify the class to your liking. My name is Xander and I am 19 years old. I was born and grew up in the UK near London. I am fluent and extremally competent in English and I feel I can teach English as well as most school subjects to children and teenagers younger than 16.
