Turkish reed flute is an essential instrument of Turkish Classcial Music. It has a deep and dense culture dating from 13. century around. If you want to learn about how to perform it you first need a teacher educated by masters on this field. I have played the flute for more than 20 years, and have been teaching since 2011. I offer flute lessons to children aged 8 and up, and adults at all levels from beginners to post Grade 8. I also teach recorder to younger beginners- I find this is a good stepping stone for younger children as it's more comfortable for smaller beginners to hold, and easier to make a sound on. Learn to pass exams or just for fun- many of my students achieve highly in ABRSM and Trinity grades, but some prefer not to take exams and this is fine too. Whatever your level, one to one tuition means that I can tailor my teaching to your needs as a flute player, and my teaching takes into account the reasons you learn an instrument, encompassing a wide variety of repertoire. I also teach music theory- lots of students come to me to help prepare for Grade 5 theory, and I also teach higher theory grades.

Cathy started her music teaching career in 2015, and has been teaching students from beginner to grade 8, aged from 6 to 35 years old. She always welcomes students who wish to explore more about music, building up playing the flute as their hobby, as well as growing together with them as their role models. She feels very glad and blessed to be the teacher of her students, as well as being their sister, witnessing their growth and becoming a good friend to them. In the lesson, she would always love to play studies, and exercise, as well as play flute pieces and duets together with the students. To broaden their horizons, she would love to share different music recordings, as well as discuss the music together during the lesson. Cathy believes that it is essential for students to step out of the classroom to learn music, rather than just playing the flute. During years of teaching, she has encountered students taking different examination grades. Cathy understands the importance of choosing the pieces for students, she would love to demonstrate pieces and discuss the preferences with the students together. As the mode of having examinations has varied these years, she has already adapted to preparing students for the exams under different situations. Gladly, most of her students could attain merit or even distinction under her tutelage.

The clarinet is a single-reed musical instrument in the woodwind family, with a nearly cylindrical bore and a flared bell. Clarinets comprise a family of instruments of differing sizes and pitches. The clarinet family is the largest woodwind family, ranging from the BB♭ contrabass to the E♭ soprano. The B♭ soprano clarinet is the most common type, and is the instrument usually indicated by the word "clarinet". German instrument maker Johann Christoph Denner is generally credited with inventing the clarinet sometime around the year 1700 by adding a register key to the chalumeau, an earlier single-reed instrument. Over time, additional keywork and airtight pads were added to improve the tone and playability. Today the clarinet is a standard fixture of the orchestra and concert band and is used in classical music, military bands, klezmer, jazz, and other styles.

Transverse flute lessons from a qualified music teacher and concert flutist who has successfully taught more than 200 pupils and students for 30 years. The teaching material is always personalized and ranges from baroque and classical to jazz and improvisation. The lessons last approximately 65 minutes. As the lessons progress, the most important thing is that making music is fun while learning. Both beginners (who cannot yet read music) and professionals who also have a diploma are welcome. Newcomers who have already learned the instrument but haven't had it in their hands for several years are of course welcome. We also play together regularly - voluntarily, of course - to play beautiful chamber music such as duos, trios and quartets.
