Katherine is a highly experienced teacher of the violin and viola based who loves sharing her passion for music. Students can expect a fun but structured approach that is centered around them and building their musical confidence. Katherine uses different genres of music to teach essential techniques.
Katherine has held the position of Head of Strings at the Aldgate School for more than a decade and she is experienced in the Paul Rolland string and Sheila Nelson teaching methods. Katherine also uses tonic sol fa and improvisation in her teaching. As a professional musician Katherine has worked with some of the UK's finest orchestras and many pop stars including Robbie Williams.

Katherine is experienced in teaching all age groups from year 3 to adults, and from beginner level to Grade 8. Before becoming Head of Strings at the Aldgate School Katherine taught at the Centre for Young Musicians and for Haringey Music Service.
As a professional musician Katherine has performed with the BBC Ulster Orchestra, the RTE Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. Katherine has also performed with many pop stars including Robbie Williams and provided live music for several productions at the National Theatre. Katherine studied at Cambridge University before undertaking postgraduate performance studies at the Royal Northern College of Music.
