I hold a degree in Vocal Performance (Classical + Pop/rock) & Musicology, and finished my studies at Fontys AMPA (Opera). I have also trained as an actor (film & theatre) at the Mulholland Academy in Amsterdam. My lessons are entirely tailored to your personal wishes. I'm a former New York City voice teacher/coach, professional singer and an award winning composer who has relocated to Berlin. I've taught with the most reputable children's musical theatre organizations in NYC (TADA!, Brooklyn Children's Theatre, The Neighborhood Playhouse) with students of all ages as well as private students and I've worked with Broadway stars such as Laura Osnes, Karen Mason and Ron Bohmer, who have also recorded my music, and I'm excited to bring my 20 yrs of teaching experience to Berlin! I teach songwriting as well, if that is something you're interested in. I'm a classically trained singer who performed with the San Francisco Opera and other companies both in opera and musical theatre for many years. Though I specialize now in musical theatre, I am happy and comfortable teaching you to sing in whatever style you prefer. The basics are the same! In our lessons, we will work on breath, correct vowel pronunciation, placement, diction, etc... as well as getting rid of the tension and habits that keep us from singing freely and beautifully. We will also work on the musical and dramatic aspects of the material we choose together, so that you will feel comfortable at an audition or a performance. I specialise in tutoring Acting and Performance for students of all ages and levels. I have worked in the industry for over 5 years and have successfully trained actors from school ages (E.g. LAMDA exams - all of whom have passed with Distinction) to adult learners who wish to expand their skills. My classes will be adapted to your requirements, but will generally involve warm-up exercises, physical and vocal technique and, usually, we will together on a script, to allow you to engage with different characters. I also run masterclasses in audition technique, clowning, mime and physical theatre.
