I offer one to one classes (only one student) because I want to understand the needs and difficulties of each student individually. This allows me to tailor my class and chose the most convenient method for teaching.

I love teaching and I have pursued that passion for many years. I studied Electrical Engineering.

I was an IB (International Baccalaureate) struggling particularly with Math and Physics, so I understand what it is to go through these apparently difficult subjects. After many years I ended up teaching these two subjects for 7 years!

Besides the knowledge part of teaching, I am also very empathic and like to motivate students by identifying their strengths and showing them how they can use them to understand all sorts of math and physics related topics.

You can play guitar, keyboard or any other instrument and become a successful composer for media. You can even become one without playing an instrument, so it really depends on your commitment and will to learn.

I am specialized (>5 years of experience) in tutoring math for school (any level, but preferably higher level), including competitive exams such as the SAT, GRE, GMAT, and the IIT-JEE.

This class is aimed to train
1) high-school students undergoing VWO or an IB curriculum, who are having problems following math at school or university,
2) Anyone who wishes to take the VWO Math-A/B/C entrance examinations by Boswell or CCVX and wants to train for that.

Personally, I am currently working as a Quantitative Researcher of stock markets, and therefore analytical math is also a part of my job.

The classes could be rigorous or lenient depending on the student. There will be periodic homework and I'll make sure that the student achieves her/his desired goals.

Need help with math or science? As a 33-year-old civil engineer, I'm happy to help! I'll learn at your own pace, using plenty of examples to illustrate the material. I have years of experience teaching both simple and complex subjects.

The lessons run as follows. First of all, together we look for the student's biggest stumbling blocks. These can be related to the subject matter as well as to the study method. From there, I continue to work at the pace of the student and encourage them to ask as many questions as possible. I also give them tips and tricks, and improve their working methods where necessary. During the lesson I give many examples to make the subject matter more interesting and we solve exercises together. Once the student has mastered the exercises from the lesson, I give some more challenging exercises to also test on the deeper understanding of the subject matter. In this way I try to optimally prepare the student for his / her test or exam.

However, learning should also be enjoyable. That is why I always strive for a good relationship with the student through a spontaneous and positive approach. I am also very patient. All this lowers the barrier to ask questions and improves the student's learning process.

Students preparing for the examination board often experience problems in the subjects of mathematics, chemistry or physics. Through intensive guidance I can greatly increase the chances of success. I have a lot of experience with the online course of "Inzicht", Geogebra, interpreting subject sheets, ... The tutoring can take place both on weekdays and in the weekend.

Students with dyscalculia are remedied by practicing the subject matter, using tips, mnemonics and a lot of patience. Experience shows that the way of mathematical thinking in dyscalculia is different and therefore requires a more structured, step-by-step approach.
