Private singing lessons in Base/online. Everybody can sing!

Everybody can sing!
In my classes I will guide you to find your own voice, through vocal exercises and movements, self-perception and listening. My desire is that the student enjoys his or her voice and singing without hurting or using extra tension and specially that he/she has the tools to know the instrument, so to know yourself.
In addition to vocal technique, I offer interpretation tools and music theory through repertoire work (songs) so that the student can interpret different styles and sing along with other musicians.
I studied vocal technique with teachers from the Rabine Institute in Germany and I have also taken a lot of courses of dance, theater and Alexander Technique that I use for my lessons in order to have an holistic approach of the voice and our body as an instrument. Let's have fun!

If you would like to improve your knowledge about jazz music, I can teach you repertoire, improvisation, composition

Experience / Qualifications

I'm a singer, composer, and teacher. I have born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I have been working as a teacher since 2009, giving individual and group singing classes in my private studio and in different cultural centers and schools in Buenos Aires. Currently, I live in Basel, Switzerland, and I'm studying an MA in Jazz Performance at the Jazzcampus of the Music Academy of Basel.

I have a BA in vocal Jazz. I've studied singing and improvisation with Florencia Carchak, Luna Monti, Sandra Peralta, Guadalupe Raventos, Laura Hatton, Marina Rama, and Elisa Viladesau. I took the jazz singing workshops given in the different editions of the Buenos Aires International Jazz Festival by Roxana Amed, Christine Correa, Dominique Eade, Judy Niemack, Darmon Meader, Dena de Rose, and Norma Winstone, among others. I have participated in the courses of functional education of the voice dictated by the Center of Vocal Work of Buenos Aires and of the "Cuartas Jornadas de Método Rabine" (Fourth Conferences of Rabine Method) dictated by the same professor Eugene Rabine (2010). I studied dance and theater since 2004 at the San Martín Theater, the National University of Arts and the Ricardo Rojas Cultural Center, in Buenos Aires.

In 2012 I formed Luciana Morelli, with whom I recorded my first album "Mandala" (2014) of own compositions and jazz standards. In 2015 the group won the contest "Música en Bares Notables 2015" (Music in Notable Bars of Buenos Aires) and performed at the Buenos Aires International Jazz Festival. I sang in Tamango, a tango group with which I recorded the album "Una mina de Fiar" (2015).
Since 2016 I lead and produce the show Jazz At The Movies, winner of the contest "Música en Bares Notables 2018", of original arrangements of jazz standards that belong to the film soundtrack, with videos that were edited especially for the show. In 2017 Jazz At The Movies performed at the prestigious cycle "Jazzologia" at the Centro Cultural General San Martin and at the Teatro Español de Azul, Province of Buenos Aires. Since 2016 it is presented weekly at Bebop Club, a famous jazz club in San Telmo, Buenos Aires.

Since 2018 I play my new compositions with Luciana trio. My music starts from a creative process with photographs, dreams, and texts where the language of jazz is crossed by Argentinian folkloric rhythms.

Learn to sing! Singing for all levels in Basel and Basel-Land
As a singer, studying at the Conservatory, I provide singing lessons for all levels students: beginner, intermediate and advanced. I focus on vocal technique, good choice of the repertoire and interpretation. Learning singing and developping one's instrument requires regularity in the practice, the best option is thus to plan a lesson every week or every two weeks.

Learn to Sing with a Qualified Opera Singer with 6+ years teaching & professional performance experience.
Whether you're a beginner who just wants a confidence boost, or someone with a music background who wants to take your technique up a notch, I'd be so happy to make music with you! The principles of music-based vocal & breath work have such power, & will not only make you feel more oxygenated, but will bring out a strength of voice & character that you didn't know you possessed! I am/have been Peripatetic Vocal Coach at 2 Independent Girls High Schools, 2 Preparatory schools (one of which is all-boys), and teach several homeschoolers (one of whom lives in Zambia, and is online). I'm confident that I can give you the same sound pedagogical experience online that you would receive on site. Here's what one of my pupils from 2019 had to say: "I have always loved singing, but never had the confidence to follow through with my passion. As an adult it can be pretty daunting. I had a couple of lessons with Emma, & through her encouragement, patience & great teaching skills, my confidence grew .. She inspired me to believe in myself and my ability to sing, especially when I did not believe it myself. She is a tremendously positive, engaging & fun teacher, & I always came out of her lessons feeling better than I had walking in, & looking forward to the next lesson!" Others in 2022 said: "I now feel that I can sing well beyond 45mins, whereas previously with another coach, it was all that I could manage in a day. " "I have been singing this song for a while, and haven't been able to sing those tops. In one lesson, you've shown me, as a tenor, how to do so - and comfortably!" Colleagues of mine at schools that I teach at have said of my lessons: "It is a privilege to listen to you teach." "I have never heard sounds like that coming from our department!" So what are you waiting for? Join me online, from a vocally safe and sunny home studio, & let's start from where you're at, make music, & have FUN doing it!

Dominyka is a singer and a vocal coach that is currently living in The Netherlands. She plays piano, violin and writes her own music. Over the past decade she had a chance to graduate from the Royal Conservatory in The Netherlands with Bachelor's and Master's diploma in jazz singing and pedagogical minor studies. She had a chance to be behind the scenes in various TV shows, win several vocal competitions, participate in various music festivals as a singer and she truly developed her ears and her knowledge that she is now also helping others to find their own unique singing voice. She has developed her knowledge about vocal technique, CVT method, stage presence, body language, story telling, composition, writing, improvisation, and so on... with various great teachers from all over the world. As well as, she had an honour to participate in workshops of Snarky Puppy, Dianne Reeves, Dena DeRose, Bob Stoloff, Norma Winstone, Fay Classon, etc. In addition, she took a course of Stevie Mackey, Cheryl Porter and had had lessons with Natalie Weiss. "I feel like voice is a unique thing and music is such a good therapy. I believe everyone can sing, and I believe that everyone could sing greatly if they are patient and put work in it." - Dominyka "I promise that with our singing lessons you will learn more about your own voice and that you will develop your own sound as a singer. We work on warm ups/warm downs, breath support, vowel placement, vocal effects, vocal colour, dynamics, articulation, stage presence, high notes - power singing (belting), and so much more. My goal is to have a good time and spend our lesson's time wisely while we achieve the best results within singing. If there is a need I can also help you to broaden your knowledge about the repertoire that is suiting to your voice colour, recording sessions, live performance situations, "a workout plan for singing", songwriting/composing, music theory, and such." P.S. ALL STYLES ARE WELCOME ! (pop/jazz/rnb/musicals/and so on)

Discover your voice with professional singer Olivia! (Classical, pop, musical theatre, opera!)
Are you curious about singing, but feel like you don’t know where to start? Do you already have some experience of singing and are curious about what your voice could achieve at its full potential? Do you feel shy about your voice and wish you could feel confident enough to sing in front of other people? I am Olivia, a professional opera singer who is passionate about teaching singers a healthy vocal technique in all styles of singing, and helping them to grow in confidence along the way. My teaching room is a safe space where students are free to experiment, make mistakes and discover everything about their voice with my full support! I have been teaching singing privately to pupils of all ages and levels for several years, as well as enjoying a busy performance career. I find that being a regular performer myself is very important when imparting knowledge and advice to my students because I want to teach you more than just the mechanics of singing - I want to guide you towards being an artist and expressing YOUR unique voice and personality. I work on vocal technique, drama and language, and have worked with children, teenagers, and adults - both those hoping to sing professionally and enthusiastic amateurs! Every lesson will include warmups and technical exercises as well as work on repertoire that we will choose together. I can teach in English, French or Italian. As for my performance experience: I began taking singing lessons at 13 years old after joining the school choir in secondary school in London, and adored the process of training my voice. In my teens, I performed in concerts as a soloist and also in a few musical theatre roles, most notably Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. I moved to Switzerland and trained as an opera singer at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève, and did a Specialised Masters (Soloist) at the Hochschule der Künste Bern. I have since gone on to perform with the opera houses of Geneva, Lausanne and Lucerne, the Opera House of Zrenjanin in Serbia, the Jeunesses Musicales Opera Studio (Croatia), London Grimeborn Festival, and have been a featured soloist at such concert venues as the Berlin Philharmonic, Salle Paderewski in Lausanne, the BFM in Geneva, the Cologne Philharmonic, and St Johns Smith Square in London. Most recently you may have seen me as Mrs P. in the Swiss première of Michael Nyman's 'The Man who mistook his Wife for a Hat' in Vevey, or if you've been enjoying the program 'Blob Opera' this year, you might be interested to know that I was one of the opera singers working on this project by recording hours of material for a machine to create an algorithm that recreating an opera singer's voice! Good singing is about solid and healthy vocal technique, a good feeling for music, self-expression and confidence! I would love to work with you to build all of these parts of yourself and to see where your voice takes you. If you have any questions, please do get in touch with me!
