Back in the days, I was finishing my Master Degree in Business and had to cope with a lot of stress. Yoga helped me to remain focused and grounded towards the new challenges I was facing. It truly brought balance into my life and helped me to smoothly adjust to these changes. Not only does yoga keep you fit. It goes way beyond the physical practice and impacts all aspects of our daily life. Yoga reminds us how to breathe and how significant self-love and acceptance are. Yoga teaches us how to find peace and comfort in the uncomfortable. Yoga soothes the mind and creates space for continuous growth and expansion. Yoga is a gift, 'the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.' I have a BA and MA in philosophy and my goal is to keep students challenged, but not overwhelmed. My class will give students a comprehensive, but manageable, introduction to key philosophy ideas from leading figures in western philosophy with a strong emphasis on idea-engagement, encouraging students to formulate their own perspectives. -Single lesson package: Students will receive a lesson in, and explore the ideas of, Plato, Kant, and Nietzsche. - Five lesson package Students will receive homework and will engage with the ideas of Aristotle and Plato, Kant, Nietzsche, Sartre, and Heidegger. - Ten lesson package Students will be given a comprehensive philosophy package. We will start by exploring the Pre-Socratics, Socrates, Plato and Aristotle. We then will investigate the ideas of Descartes, Kant and Locke. We then proceed to explore more contemporary philosophy, exploring Nietzsche, Sartre, and Heidegger.

Yoga is union between mind and body. During yoga asana class, you bring awareness to your body through conscious breathing and movement, which are the tools to keep a healthy mind and body. My classes can adapt to your needs and preferences, from more slow-paced sessions focusing on deepening in the asana (hatha), to more dynamic classes that will challenge your body (vinyasa). I believe in listening to your body when practicing asana; one should always feel comfortable in the postures and try to go a bit further within the limits of your body, and I will adjust your posture (needless to say, if you are okay with respectful professional physical contact) so you can deepen and improve every session a bit more! It’s incredible how fast your body can transform from this practice, and the benefits that come with it. I find useful the use of some props -I will provide with a strap and blocks for the session so you can experience and feel the asana in a way that feels comfortable and enjoyable, and will allow you to improve your flexibility and strength at the same time. I have learned yoga (and still am!) from teachers from around the world, mostly in yoga salas in Barcelona, London, and India, where I got my Yoga Teacher certification.

Vincent Van Gogh once said something to the effect that greatness is a series of little things coming together, Emile Durkheim the great French sociologist first 'coined', "the whole is more than the sum of its parts" and Montesquieu conceived of laws in relation to climate. What do all of these have to do with each other? The fact that the interpretation and understanding of one of the realms of socio-political knowledge is not enough to either understand that single discipline of study whether it be Law, History, Political Science, Economics, Sociology or Philosophy- you cannot separate any from the whole and be able to understand the Short, Nasty,Brutish™ nature that reality is and that conditions human life. While my studies and work have nigh been exclusively related to Law, my interests which pushed me there were/are seemingly very different. Through my experience I may humbly submit that the the perspectives that each discipline approaches problems with are crucial in solving very distinct "linguistic" problems within their specific paradigms. They however are victims of dogma as is academia in general it would be fair to say. Living in the times we do, it is not only necessary as a basic informational issue but as an issue of responsible citizenry, young adults must be well educated about the political economy. Whether you're looking to study and/or are currently studying and/or want to learn about any of the aforementioned subjects whether in conjunction with current coursework and/or assignments, or if you're just interested and would like to learn about a specific period in time, this is for you.
