WHEN THE DOCTOR IS NOT AROUND..! First Aid knowledge is a must-have skill for everyone, regardless of age, status and educational background. In fact, accidents happen when we least expect them, and as much as we try to avoid them, they still happen unannounced. In the end, what would matter is how well we are prepared to stop that occurrence from getting worse or even leading to death. Research has shown that many people who died from sudden cardiac arrest (sudden heart stoppage) didn't die because it was their time to die; rather, they died because there was no one with the right skill set to administer basic life support (CPR especially) to them. That very moment is usually a crucial moment when the fate of the individual is decided by what we know, or ours decided by that of others. Usually, what the best fate would be is to give the casualty another opportunity to see and hold his loved ones again. And I'd say again that this is a must-have skill for all to prevent or reduce death from preventable causes. Respectfully, if you ever find me in a position where I require first aid, please do not let me die!!!
