I very much enjoy
teaching mathematics and helping students to understand and master the core
mathematical/scienti c material and how to use mathematical knowledge to
think clearly and to address real problems and challenges. I think it is fundamental
to motivate and inspire students by creating the conditions in the
classroom to spark their curiosity, raising their awareness, their creativity and
channel their ability to learn and understand how to address and solve practical
engineering and economic problems.
Anyone can learn mathematical ideas in a deep and memorable way. The potential
to learn and to integrate knowledge is within the grasp of every student
given the right learning conditions, and the appropriate and e ective support
of inspiring teachers. Following e ective coherent teaching and modelling approaches
(notably involving digital tools and platforms), corrective instruction,
coaching techniques, and guidelines to be applied in the classroom have proved
to lead to highly satisfactory outcomes, i.e., increase performance, competences,
and overall satisfaction and learning experience of students.
I have a broad international experience and have bene ted from attending and
working at top schools, academic institutions, and global rms. I have had
the opportunity to live in various cultures and cultural environments that have
opened my mind and shaped my character.
I have over 20 years of scienti c academic experience involving teaching in top
academic international institutions (UNAM, NYU, Columbia, UZH, ETHZ) including
more than 7 years of experience conducting scienti c research in the
area of applied mathematics leading to outstanding independent and collaborative
work published in some of the most prestigious peer-reviewed journals in
the world. I also have more than 5 years experience working in the private sector
in the area of Risk Management, Risk Governance and Model Governance
with an expertise in developing, analysing, controlling, assessing and validating
mathematical models employed in the nancial, insurance and pension fund
