My name is Douglas, and I'm a patient and very friendly young man. I have been tutoring mathematics for 9 years, since I was studying in high-school in England myself.

I have tutored a diverse spectrum of people, from young kids, to middle-aged students with experience working with people of varying competencies, from children with learning difficulties up to university level mathematics.

I have a 1st Class Hons. degree in Mathematics and a Master's degree in Quantitative Financial Economics, for which I was awarded a Scholarship and graduated from with a Distinction. I thoroughly enjoy working with young people and teaching really is something I genuinely love.

I am by nature a very relaxed and laid-back individual. My patience and calmness are some of my greatest assets as a private tutor, whilst my ability to very clearly articulate and explain technical concepts are some others.

I feel very confident in my ability to teach. My methods are simple and clear. I articulate slowly, and carefully without taking for granted or assuming any prior knowledge to a concept. I explain in an exhaustive manner, to ensure I'm not skipping over any gaps in the students knowledge. I do this very patiently whilst repeating myself and explaining myself by other means, so the student can slowly put together the necessary elements to understand the problem.

1st Class Honours degree in Mathematics, with an Award of Academic Excellence.
Distinction grade in MSc Quantitative Financial Economics, for which I was granted a scholarship.

For science subjects, I tackle all kinds of difficulties for the student by performing a series of exercises with increasing difficulty; first by explaining the course, giving out demonstrations and providing some simple examples.

I refer for all this to my old courses available and those of the student, as well as my personal books of language learning. I also write writing materials that I provide to the student.

I have to my credit many academic baggage and hours spent studying, including three Masters in International Business and a degree in Engineering.
