Having grown up in the multicultural British territory of Gibraltar which is located at the southern tip of Spain, I developed an appreciation for the Spanish language from a young age.

As one of Gibraltar's official languages alongside English, Spanish was always around me - in conversations, media, cultural events, and more. Especially with my family, we speak to each other in Spanish.

This early immersion allowed me to become fully fluent, achieving an A* in my GCSE Spanish exam. I can speak, read, write and translate Spanish with complete proficiency. More importantly, I gained an understanding and love for the Spanish culture alongside hispanic communication.

Now, as a masters student at the University of Liverpool, I'm eager to share my passion for Spanish with others. Whether you're a total beginner, preparing for an exam like the GCSE or IGCSE, want to brush up on your conversational skills, or need assistance with reading literature or academic texts, I can provide an authentic, engaging learning experience tailored to your needs. Additionally I am prepared with cgp revision guides which are specific to GCSE exams.

Beyond my language expertise, I have experience working with young people in school on a one-on-one basis, and babysitting my three younger siblings and 12 younger cousins (big Spanish families!). I was born in Istanbul in 1983. I started teaching Turkish while studying Turkish Language and Literature at university. I worked in a language school and at universities. I have been teaching Turkish professionally for more than 16 years. I also taught Turkish for 5 years when I was a university student. In 2018, I obtained a TESOL certificate and also began teaching English.

I teach both adults and children. Creating a comfortable learning environment for my students is one of my top priorities. If you would like to learn Turkish or English in a consistent and structured way, I would be happy to work with you.

I use the course book set prepared by Istanbul University. It follows a strategic approach to learning Turkish and includes all language skills—reading, grammar, writing, listening, watching, and speaking—from A1 to C2. All of these skills are essential for conversation.

I teach English for the A1 and A2 levels.

The workbook offers many exercises for homework or revision, and I support the book with my own authentic materials. I also use an interactive board that you can view anytime, and you can edit it as well. Repetition-based speaking practice plays an important role in my lessons.

I speak English well, and a bit of Italian, and I have also studied Persian and German grammar. I am interested in literature.
