Kris Baines is an established pianist & composer, with his music streaming in over 180 countries. He specializes in solo piano, felted piano, and emotive instrumental music. Lessons are available on a regular or one-off basis and can be tailored to meet the student's requirements.

If you want to improve your style and technique, play from chords, and improvise, you will benefit greatly from lessons with Kris. For those who play piano in a church context, Kris can also offer many tips and helpful advice from his experience leading congregations in church singing.

If you are a beginning artist, just starting to compose, and want to know how to get your music recorded and released all over the world, Kris also offers artist development coaching.

Hey Students,
My name is Kris , originally from the UK, but have lived in New Zealand for 26 years, and now back in the UK!!! In the last 20 years my focus has been as a recording artist, distributing my own compositions to over 180 countries via streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, Pandora etc. However, I'm in a unique season now when I can take a limited number of students to teach piano. My focus is on helping you express yourself on the piano, learn to compose, play from chords and by ear, and I can also help get budding artists started with development coaching - showing you the steps you need to take to get your music streamed around the world. I'm looking forward to teaching again, so please reach out if you are interested. One-off and regular lessons are fine.

I live in Essex, UK with my wonderful wife, and 8 of our 9 children (one is married) - so it's certainly not boring in our home :-)

The guitar is undoubtedly one of the most popular instruments of the modern age. It is so versatile and used in many genres ranging from classical music to Death Metal and even Electronic Music.

I will teach you the basics of playing the guitar, and I'll spice it up later with my experience in composition and songwriting. We will learn by example through the famous songs that shaped our understanding of the guitar. Whether you prefer singer-songwriter-style songs, or thrash metal we'll get there together.

I will teach mainly using the guitar tablature format, we can do sheet music which is generally unneeded for anything besides classical, but I will need to refresh my music sheet reading skills as I haven't had to read any in the last 10 years.
