About Me

I am Dr Iyer. A tutor with PhD in Finance and over 18 years of teaching experience including over 18 years of online tutoring as of 2023. I have worked with students in all continents- Americas, Europe, Middle East, and Asia and thus have a good understanding of cultures and curricula followed in various parts of the world.

I have been very successful at making many students perform very well in the subjects that I have tutored, which makes me a sought after teacher. I would be able to provide you with a reference from one of my students so that you can check about my teaching.

My Approach: I believe in teaching the student and not the subject. That is adopting a teaching style that is customized to the learning style of the student. Hence I undertake only one-on-one tutoring. I am patient and friendly, yet firm. I understand student psychology and can strike a chord with students of different age groups.

Students will first be asked which MS Office program they want to learn and why, and then given an initial test. This initial test will clearly identify the student's goals, and a personalized program will be developed based on the test analysis.

For example, for someone who simply wants to learn Excel from scratch, they will first be taught the basics of Excel, and we will interactively work with them at their pace. Any topics they don't understand or need to review will be explained again.

While I share my screen during class, I record the lesson and create recordings. This way, students can rewatch the recordings and review them if they wish. Furthermore, students will have lifetime access to the practice questions we cover during class and those I create for them afterward via Google Drive.

After completing all courses, students will receive feedback at 1, 3, 6, and 12 months to reinforce the topics learned. Additional courses will be provided if necessary, ensuring ongoing learning.
