The title of the thesis: « Credit Risk Taking and Efficiency explanation through Overconfidence Bias and Capital Structure Moderating Effect within Conventional and Islamic Microfinance Institutions». The purpose of this research thesis was to analyze the impact of credit risk-taking on financial and social efficiency and examine the relationship between credit risk, capital structure, and efficiency as well as, investigate the impact of loan officers’ overconfidence on risk-taking decisions and solvency performance measured by z-scores in the context of Islamic microfinance institutions (MFIs) compared to their conventional counterparts.
