My IB tutoring sessions provide a structured and student-led environment where learners are in charge of their own progress. With seven years of experience teaching the IB DP, I have taught and can help with Geography, ESS, History, and TOK. Additionally, I have been guiding students through the Extended Essay as the EE coordinator for three years, so I know the IB and have the resources to help students develop organization, critical thinking, and research skills that foster confidence and independence in the diploma.

Being new to the Netherlands, I have a flexible work schedule for this year. Having studied in the USA and UK and worked with diverse international learners in Africa and Europe, I bring a global perspective and warm, multilingual approach. Each session is online through Zoom and uses Zoom's interactive whiteboard. Lessons are not didactic, but are tailored to individual learning styles, blending academic rigor with empathy and adaptability. My background as a special needs teacher enables me to differentiate instruction and provide strategies that meet students where they are. I place strong emphasis on essay writing, data analysis, and exam techniques, ensuring that students not only understand the content but also know how to apply it effectively.

Professionally, I have taught IB Geography, ESS, and TOK, and I have also served as an Extended Essay coordinator, guiding students through the research and writing process with a focus on organization and critical thinking. Earlier in my career, I worked as a special needs teacher in both primary and secondary schools, an experience that strengthened my ability to adapt lessons and approaches to individual learning needs. I have also contributed to curriculum development for Geography, ensuring that the material is engaging and aligned with IB standards.

My teaching style is student-led: I provide the structure, resources, and support, while students take the wheel in setting the pace and depth of their learning. I focus on building self-awareness, confidence, and exam techniques that suit each student’s strengths. I also emphasize essay writing and research analysis, helping students gain the skills they need not only to succeed in exams but also to approach academic work with independence and clarity.

I am a professional(ESL) English teacher/lecturer conducting online and location-based English lessons in The Hague. I hold with a BA degree in Teaching English and a certificate in Pedagogy as well as several additional certificates to teach English.I am officially authorized by DUO to work at elementary,secondary and highschools as well as international schools in The Netherlands. Furthermore, I have experience of 23 years of teaching English to kids, teenagers and adults. Bijles voor basis- en middelbare scholieren. Ik heb het meest ervaring in het geven van bijles wiskunde en Nederlands, maar ook voor andere vakken kan je bij mij terecht.
De bijlessen worden bij voorkeur gegeven bij de leerling thuis. De leerling kan zich namelijk doorgaans beter concentreren in een vertrouwde omgeving.

Hi,

Ik heb ruime ervaring met het geven van bijles en het begeleiden van leerlingen bij verschillende organisaties. In de afgelopen jaren heb ik gewerkt met leerlingen van uiteenlopende niveaus, waarbij ik heb gemerkt dat ik veel energie haal uit het uitleggen van lesstof en het vergroten van zelfvertrouwen bij leerlingen.

Mijn interesse en passie liggen vooral bij de vakken geschiedenis, aardrijkskunde en maatschappijleer/burgerschap. Ik vind het belangrijk om deze vakken niet alleen inhoudelijk duidelijk uit te leggen, maar ook te laten zien hoe ze aansluiten bij de actualiteit en de belevingswereld van leerlingen. Daarbij besteed ik veel aandacht aan structuur, overzicht en het aanleren van effectieve leerstrategieën.

Op dit moment volg ik de master Bestuurskunde aan de Universiteit Leiden. Deze opleiding sluit goed aan bij mijn interesse in politiek, bestuur en maatschappelijke vraagstukken en versterkt mijn vakinhoudelijke kennis, die ik ook inzet tijdens mijn bijlessen.

Mijn manier van begeleiden is rustig, geduldig en persoonlijk. Ik neem de tijd om te achterhalen waar een leerling tegenaan loopt en pas mijn uitleg daarop aan. Het doel is niet alleen betere resultaten, maar ook meer zelfvertrouwen en motivatie.
