I have been playing and teaching music professionally for 20 years and love teaching! My experience ranges from playing in orchestra and chamber groups to playing in experimental rock bands. I have extensive experience in helping students prepare for exams and performances. Another one of my passions is teaching music composition and improvisation. If you think writing music and improvising is something you are interested in, I am the teacher for you!

Présentation
My name is Brian and I am a cellist and composer who has recently moved to Hong Kong from Singapore.

I have extensive experience teaching music at the highest level in the United States and Singapore. I also have a track record of collaborating with colleagues to improve student learning and engagement and creating tools and strategies that help my students to gain a depth of knowledge, skills, and confidence.

As a composer and arranger, I am very comfortable teaching orchestration. I advocate teaching with a hands-on approach where students can hear, see, and touch the actual instruments they are writing for.

Throughout my career, I have been a champion for modern music. I believe that it is essential for teachers to teach and promote new music at all times to students. Without constant new input, creativity becomes stagnant. New, exciting, and adventurous music inspires others to create instead of mimic. Music becomes so much more than playing what is written on the page, when a person learns how to compose it themselves.

I have worked in a variety of schools, both in location and student population. These experiences have helped me develop a cultural awareness and the pedagogical tools that enable me to work successfully with diverse populations of learners. I am equally energized by teaching beginners as teaching university level performers. I believe music education should have no boundaries regarding genre. I am as comfortable teaching classical music as I am teaching jazz or rock.

Hello! I am a clarinetist who graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp. I offer private ONLINE lessons. For beginners, intermediate and advanced students. Experience teaching for the past 8 years, with children and adults, individual and group lessons. With professional projection or amateur.

If you want to go to a conservatory, I can also help you with my experience preparing for the auditions.

If you want to improve your skills as a musician and have fun with your instrument, this is probably the place for you. Do you want to prepare an audition, to be more flexible playing chamber music, or just having fun playing a jazz standard?

I would like to offer to share my knowledge and help you with any questions and concerns you may have about classical music and other styles.
