I’m constantly looking to deepen my knowledge, and I’m currently studying new techniques focused on voice anatomy. In my coaching sessions I focus mostly on vocal techniques such as: -Full voice (chest voice) -Stiff voice (head voice) -Twang -The use of jaw and tongue -Control of the velum (soft palette) -Anchoring (support) -Larynx In my view, these techniques are like colors in your palette, when you master them, you can decide when and where you want to use them. Your sound should always be a choice, not a way to hide what you can't do (yet). This course is meant for intermediate to advanced singers. Is a very intensive Vocal class for students who have a concert or want to sing in a fast manner. You need to be very serious about this class. You need to come with a bottle of water and tissue. This has to be constant, at least 3 lessons a week.

My classes are different depending on your level and age. With children from 7 to 12, we start by doing easy vocalization and start training the ear with intonation, we then have fun singing your favorite songs. With teenagers, I also start with some vocalization, a little more elaborate. Depending on the student's capabilities, we start establishing a comfortable range for them and then proceed to singing. For my older students ideally, I divide our lesson into 2 sections. We work on respiration and how the diaphragm works. We do scales and arpeggios and work on intonation. We then proceed to singing and putting into practice our technique. Some students might need more technique before they actually sing, I like to take things slowly and make sure the student feels confident and comfortable singing. These lessons are for young and/or inexperienced singers. My lesson plans are tailored towards students' individual goals. For some, this may be learning and embodying an audition song for their school's upcoming theater performance, and for others voice lessons are a first step towards singing healthily in their church choir. In any case, I focus on correcting and building core skills necessary to singing one's best while encouraging and fostering creativity, accountability, and motivation. If considered for a long-term journey towards singing, I will focus particularly on classical techniques to build steady breath control, good posture, and proper vowel and consonant formation. Along with providing repertoire, if the student is ready and wants, there will be opportunities for vocal performance in the Santa Cruz area. I will encourage audio recordings in all lessons to help with future preparations. My recommendation for learning the Oud is to start with the study of notes and musical notation before tackling pieces. Although some students prefer to play songs directly, understanding the basics of musical notation allows for faster progress in the long run.
