I'm an experienced educator from the UK, who has worked for the National Youth Jazz Orchestra of Great Britain as an Associate Educator, and for the prestigious Rhythm Studio in West London. I've performed all over Europe, as well as in Havana, Cuba and in the Dubai Opera House. I graduated with 1st Class Honours from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in 2015, and am currently studying a Jazz Drums masters at the CvA in Amsterdam. Rod is a British Jazz Musician whose versatility takes him from an intimate jazz club setting or recording studio to the large festival stage. He has played at some of the UK’s leading music venues, in London’s West End, as well as to international audiences.

Rod received tuition from both the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal Welsh College of Music (First Class Honours degree) leading to performance opportunities alongside jazz greats including Kenny Wheeler, Dave Cliff, Norma Winstone, Soweto Kinch and Mike Stern. He studied with Martin France (Spin Marvel), James Maddren (Kit Downes Trio) and Jeff Williams (Jeff Williams Quartet).

Rod is endorsed by Bosphorous Cymbals, Ludwig Drums and also by D'Addario, the world's premier manufacturer of various instrument accessories, including Evans Drumheads and Promark Drumsticks.

I give drum lessons to beginning drummers (m / f). You can come to me from 6 years. I give individual lessons so that you can learn at your own pace. You will only become a good drummer once you have mastered the basic technique. That is why technique exercises are discussed a lot, which we apply when playing real songs that you like.

Hello! I'm Nina, a drummer from Amsterdam.
I am currently studying pop/rock drums at the Herman Brood Academy in Utrecht.
I play in 2 bands. I also play in many different session projects (from pop to rock). I work a lot with hybrid drums (triggers and SPD) and also teach them with Ableton.

The studio is located in the Q-Factory in Amsterdam with two professional drum kits and sound system.
In addition, I can occasionally offer a lesson in Utrecht!
If all this is too far or for some other reason not reachable, lessons at home and / or online are also possible!

We can work on, among other things:
- Hand technique (how do I hold my sticks? Or which stick technique do I use for different music styles?)
Creativity (how can I ultimately make cool parts on the drums myself? Or different parts than what you initially came up with?)
- Improvisation (lots of playing and trying!)
- Timing (playing along with songs, with click tracks, how can I become more playful with the click?)
- Relaxed posture
- Drum notation (learning to read drum notes)
- New fills, grooves and beats
- Sound (how do I tune my drums? which drum sound do I want for different types of music?)
- Hybrid drums (working with samples on the SPD and/or triggers) in combination with Ableton

And of course we will play along to your favorite songs a lot!
I especially hope that I can create lessons together with you that match what you like and what you would like to learn. All levels and ages are welcome!

Hello! My name is Aurel and I am a French Amsterdam-based drummer.

Although currently specialized in Jazz music, I have studied various esthetics, and Pop and Rock music, in particular, are part of my background (I played in several pop-rock bands). Therefore I am able to teach a broad panel of music styles. I also have many drum methods and charts at my disposal, and have experience in teaching children from the age of 6, as well as teenagers and adults.

Lessons and teaching method:
I always adapt to the student's tastes and learning profiles. This is why, during the first lesson, and on a regular basis afterwards, I always take time to discuss with my students (or their parents if they are very young) to figure out together the path they want or need to follow. I will use charts and methods for those who need visual support to assimilate the skills or teach by ear and by demonstrating to the ones who feel more comfortable this way. I also play electric guitar and can jam with my students, which is a great tool for developing band playing skills or simply to have a good time.

For those eager to make significant progress, I offer consistent and serious monitoring, with practice recommendations. I can for instance prepare a student for an audition or an entrance exam in a conservatory. If you are willing to improve your understanding of rhythm in general, you can also benefit from my knowledge of Indian Karnatic rhythm concepts, one of the most complete traditional approaches to rhythm.
Students who simply want to learn at their pace, to have fun and unwind, are definitely welcome too!

About me:
In addition to my jazz drums bachelor and master degrees from the conservatory of Amsterdam (CvA), which included a thorough pedagogical training and a specialization in Indian Karnatic techniques, I benefit from 4 years of experience as an employed drum teacher in two French associative music schools (Ecole de musique de Nangis and Conservatoire des Deux Rives, Moret-sur-Loing).

I am also an active musician, both on the Dutch and the French scene. My trio mainly tours in France and has played at venues such as the Sunside (Paris), or participated in competitions like the Keep An Eye International Jazz Award. I am also the co-leader of the sextet Chai Masters, finalist of several European competitions (Leiden Jazz Award, Golden Jazz Trophy in Lille, France, 7 Virtual Jazz Contest). Recently, the band was part of Keep An Eye The Records's finalists (March 2022). Its first album "Magic Realism" received critical acclaim in France, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands.
