Hello, my name is Luca. I am a business student in Amsterdam. My mother has been an English teacher all of her life and has taught me the secrets of the trade. I have been teaching English for quite some time now and my expertise lies in helping people that want to develop their spoken proficiency.

In 2023, I've obtained a Master degree in Linguistics at the University of Amsterdam. I've achieved the C1+ levels in English, on the CEFR scale. I have 2 years of experience living in London, where I acquired RP (received pronunciation) and 7 years of experience in the International Academia (Amsterdam). My linguistic background gives me the capacity to explain the sounds and various processes of the language, from a perspective many natives do not know. In teaching, I practice the holistic approach. It is my belief that language is for people of every age and education, but I'm aware that everyone deserves a personal approach. In the first session, we always do a needs analysis and become acquainted, to make sure we click as people and will enjoy working away at your personal language goals.

We also work with images, sounds and videos so that the student can recognize, interpret for themselves and improve their hearing ability. At the basic and intermediate levels I use a system where the student can listen, copy and repeat information similar to the beginning of learning their native language.
I assign homework after each lesson and report student progress month by month. I specialize in students being able to maintain a fluent conversation in Spanish using class time to improve pronunciation and fluency.
