Trusted teacher: About myself From the age of six I followed piano education. I studied classical piano at the Conservatory of St. Petersburg and then classical singing at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Along with my singing career I accompany various choirs and singers. I have many years of experience in teaching piano to both children and adults, for beginners and advanced players. How do I teach piano During class my students get the basics of piano technique, music theory and an introduction to different music styles. I pay a lot of attention to attitude, musicality and interpretation. By learning a good technique you automatically get inspiration and pleasure to play the most beautiful piano pieces. You learn to develop your own musical taste. During the lesson we play duos together for fun, but also to learn to make music with someone. Lesson for children I introduce starting children from 6 years old to the piano by playing and singing at the same time. Then we quickly switch to piano books such as the Thompson method. You learn to read notes, rhythms, correct piano touch and posture so that you can quickly play your favorite piece of music. Do you want to apply for admission to the conservatory or do you want to play in a band? I can help you prepare for auditions. Lesson for adults Advanced children and adults follow an individual program depending on personal wishes and level. The pleasure and happiness of making music are central. House concerts and stage student concerts. During the festive concerts you will have the opportunity to play for others and hear different music from other students. Info Lessons take place at my home in Leiden. I teach in Dutch or English.

Trusted teacher: 💬 A customised English accent coaching / training course with a dedicated native-speaking coach will enhance your communication skills, boost your confidence, and ensure you can be easily understood in English conversations, presentations and meetings. I help clients identify and fix the issues that cause misunderstandings, helping you cultivate a more natural and relaxed speaking style. In our course, we'll work on building stronger connections between your mind and your speech muscles so that you can make adjustments that help you sound more native. We'll also compare the similarities and differences between your natural accent and your target English accent, so you can pinpoint the sounds that you want to work on. ⭐ Select between Accent Reduction and British English Accent Coaching. 🌍 Accent Reduction identifies and targets the issues that cause misunderstandings in your own specific natural accent. This varies depending on your accent. For Dutch speakers, this usually includes: • the consonants th, p, t, k, s, sh, r, and v • the vowels in "strut" and "foot" • making intonation less flat and more meaningful • relearning the connections between sound and spelling – famously fiendish in English! Accent Reduction is perfect for people who may feel that their accent is part of their identity and may not wish to change it completely but still want to be more understandable to an international audience. 💂 British English Accent Coaching is a step-by-step course that teaches you to sound like a British native speaker. It teaches all of the sounds that makes British English sound unique. This includes: • shifting many vowels towards a more forward placement in the mouth •adopting British intonation patterns for questions, lists and speeches • and of course the distinct British "t" sound (Brits do love their tea, after all). British English Accent Coaching is ideal for people who pride themselves on sounding like native English speakers. WHAT MAKES MY LESSONS STAND OUT? Affordability, quality, and expertise. In this industry, materials are rarely professional or customised. As an independent teacher, I provide my clients with a tailor-made learning experience just for you. If you want a mix of Accent Reduction and British English, or if you have any special requests, I will adapt the course for your needs. WHO SIGNS UP FOR AN ENGLISH PRONUNCIATION COURSE? ABOUT ME My name’s Tom and I’m an English teacher from Southeast England, based in the Hague, Netherlands. I teach English learners how to communicate more clearly. I have taught for various schools and agencies in the Netherlands and been frustrated by the lack of high-quality teaching materials and expertise among teachers of Accent Reduction and British English pronunciation. So in 2021 I set up my freelance teaching business to change the situation. I have over 10 years of teaching experience in various countries, and I have a master's degree in Linguistics from Leiden University, with a specialisation in English Linguistics, Phonetics and Speech Processing. I am trained in speech analysis software, a highly effective tool in helping learners not only hear but also visualise their mistakes. In my spare time, I study and learn languages. I can speak Mandarin, Finnish and a smattering of many others. Currently I am learning Japanese and Dutch. I have the technical, academic, and practical skills to help you improve your accent.

Trusted teacher: Experimentation is an inherent characteristic of electronic music. Nowadays, composing music using technology creates endless creative possibilities that demand the musician/composer to adapt to numerous technical and artistic challenges. Do you like experimenting with sound and making music that does not clearly belong to a particular genre or style? Interested in bringing a fresh perspective and out-of-the-box thinking to your music production? Are you just starting out in electronic music composition and wondering how to develop your own style? This course is just what you need. In this class, you will learn: - how to transform sound using analogue and digital techniques. - how to create sound structures and organise them in a DAW enviroment to compose a piece of music. - how to record, edit and mix sounds using both conventional and experimental techniques. - how to use improvisation in both the context of live performance and composition. - about the theory and practice of free improvisation. - about the history and origins of electronic music and how it affected the music we listen today. - how to document and communicate procedures related to your artistic practice. - how to create an artistic portfolio. Aspiring musicians with a background in any genre can take advantage of this course. A formal education in music or experience with electronic music composition are not required to follow. However, you should be unafraid of experimenting with sound and music technology! Each class is customized to meet the needs of the individual student in an innovative and flexible way! The course can also serve as a preparation for applying to several Dutch educational programmes related to electronic music composition (Institute of Sonology, HKU, ArtEZ, etc.). The class is focused on small assignments that help the student develop a sense of orientation and set goals. Recording, editing, and mixing will be done via the DAW "Reaper," but we can switch to your preferred software at any time. We will use the first lesson to discuss your background, interests, and motivations in order to develop a course structure that is tailored to your needs.

Yannis

We just have started to work with Yannis, but I am really happy about how we progress and feel inspired and looking forward to future lectures. Yannis teaches me to develop a vision on how to approach working with sound, while recording, processing and using it in electronic composition. I would say he is opening my mind in a way toward the analysing a character of sound as a compositional element. I like that lessons are not only just about a particular technique (and there are so many to learn from Yannis), but about developing a workflow and a mindset. Examples from historical electronic pieces to listen and analyse from legendary electroacoustic composers are really inspirational. After each lesson there is a home task and in the following lecture there is an analysis of the results and based on that Yannis gives lessons on what needs to be changed, improved, pay attention to etc, in order to develop compositional skills. I highly recommend Yannis as a teacher, if you are into modern experimental electroacoustic composition and improvisation.

French Horn (modern/historical) and Music Theory with a professional (The Hague)
Nicolas

Nicolas has a friendly approach in his horn teaching backed by his high professional standard with very good ears. His feedback is to the point and focused on building up in small steps for long term improvements. His lesson on resuming practice after a break was very useful, which I’m sure will benefit me repeatedly in future. He also very kindly helped me look for a mouthpiece and instrument, which again was very useful. If/when face to face becomes possible, I’d love to get lessons on historical horn from him!

Antonio has been teaching my daughter for three months and she is absolutely thrilled with him. He is very patient and knows how to adapt and keep the child interested for the entire lesson so that she has learned a lot in the time. He makes the lessons fun and the house is filled with the sound of music and laughter. We could not be happier with Antonio. Highly recommend him to anyone looking to learn the guitar, regardless of age.
