Grüß Gott, bassoon students! My name is Logan, and I'm a bassoonist of 13 years originally from the Chicago area currently pursuing graduate study with Marc Engelhardt at the Hochschule für Musik, Stuttgart. I'm offering bassoon lessons at all levels, whether you're just picking up the instrument for the first time or you're preparing yourself for a competition. I have nearly ten years of teaching experience in a wide variety of settings with a wide range of student ages, beginning with my work as a volunteer tutor early in high school and carrying on through my positions as an assistant conductor through the Peabody Preparatory and as a private academic tutor. I currently make all of my own bassoon reeds from tube cane, and I have been finishing my own reed blanks for nearly ten years. I am proficient in both the German and American styles of blank-making and reed-finishing; I am prepared to teach one or both styles to appropriately-leveled students as necessary and as requested.
