After training at three different art academies, including Willem de Kooning in Rotterdam, I have now been working full-time as an artist for 8 years. I make my works with acrylic paint, but I still draw and sketch a lot on paper. My art style is a mix of spontaneous realism and abstract use of color, pop art and comic style. We will also look at specific Artists and Painters, as well as specific Art History periods, and the kids will then be encouraged to play around and recreate their own version of the Artist or period. Needless to say that class do not necessarily mean free-time activity, the academic material is intentionally or not(unconsciously) always a present element of my instructive performance. Therefore, the game becomes a teaching/learning relation, whilst teaching and learning turn into a recreational joyful moment for all participants.

I am very passionate about painting animals, portraits, and cityscapes, but I will never back up from a challenge. Whatever I find beautiful, I transform it into watercolor. My style stands out because of its vibrant and bold colors, combined with spatters and a messy effect. That’s how life is, after all: a bit messy, but beautiful, nonetheless.
