In this class you will explore:

1. Understanding Rekordbox, Serato, Ableton Live, FL Studio
2. Beat-matching and pitch control (including pitch riding techniques)
3. Creative EQing and fader control for smooth, musical transitions
4. Phrasing and understanding song structure in a DJ context
5. Key awareness and harmonic mixing fundamentals
6. How to work confidently with industry-standard DJ equipment
7. Music curating and the mindset of a digger-selector
8. How to build a DJ set with flow and intention
9. Narrative mixing: energy control, tension, and musical storytelling

Each lesson is adapted to your level and goals, whether you want to play in clubs, improve your technical confidence, or develop a more personal and expressive DJ style.

Over
I would describe myself as a practical and creative DJ mentor who focuses on helping students understand both the technical and artistic side of DJing.

My teaching approach is very hands-on. We spend most of the lesson working directly with music and equipment, so students learn by doing and listening rather than by theory alone. I guide each step in a clear and simple way, while also encouraging experimentation so students can develop their own style and confidence behind the decks.

I hold a BMus (Hons) in Creative Music Technology from the University of Surrey (Department of Music and Media, UK), where I focused on music production and composition, sound design, and creative performance using technology

I especially enjoy working with students who are curious about music, not just mixing technique. My primary goal being to help students develop a personal selector identity and move from simply "playing tracks" to understanding how to build real DJ sets with flow, intention, and personality.

Hello, I'm Sam :)

As a music producer I've been working with Ableton live for both recording and making music as well as Live performances.

I'm comfortable using Ableton stock plugins but also 3th party plugins such as Fabfilter plugins (Q3, R, L2,...) and making percussive sounds with Serum (or Operator in Ableton).
I also do a lot of sounddesign using my prophet 6 or record guitar and make it stand out in the mix.

I'm very happy to hear what you like to learn so I can adjust the lessons to exactly what you need!
Please tell me what the issues are you're having or what you would like to learn and I'll make sessions at your personal level.

For myself, I mainly use Ableton to make electronic (deep house) music with rock influences.

Ableton Live is a great program, but it takes a while to get the hang of it. I have been working with it for 7 years and am starting to know it inside and out. It speeds up your creation process enormously if you know the software well. Otherwise it can take a long time and you get discouraged faster. In addition to Ableton Live, I am also starting to know Max. This is not a DAW but a visual programming language that is often used by artists because you do not have to learn to write code for it right away. You can use it to make music, but also for lights and video. It is a very deep program with many possibilities. I can give you the basics of this.

I specialize in DJing and artistic entrepreneurship, having played at venues like Mirano, Couleur Café, and Bloody Louis. My goal is to empower groups and individuals through high-standard technical training, remaining fully accessible in English, French, and Dutch. I focus on hands-on practice, ensuring participants stay challenged but not overwhelmed.

This workshop is perfect for teambuilding events, group activities, or aspiring DJs ready to get behind the decks. It’s not just for those wanting a career in music, but for anyone looking for a unique, creative experience. We focus on the essential pillars: curating a playlist, mastering the beatmatch, and learning core mixing techniques using my professional and mobile Pioneer setup. Since we are fully mobile, we bring the studio to any location you choose—from corporate event spaces and schools to youth centers. Whether you are an absolute beginner or looking for a fun group challenge, my workshops turn passion into performance, and are open to everyone from age 8 and up.

Nederlands

I am a DJ instructor and I teach mixing both digitally and on vinyl. My course starts from the basics: we will learn how to use equipment such as the CDJ-2000 Nexus, the Xone 92 and the Technics 1200 MK2 turntables.

We'll cover how to select your music, where to find it (platforms, sources), how to organize it effectively, and how to use Rekordbox. We'll also cover the basics of mixing, beatmatching, and understanding musical tonalities to better grasp the structure and energy of tracks.

You will learn how to build a coherent mix, create your own podcast, and choose music according to the mood, the moment, and the audience.

We will also talk about the reality of DJing in the evening: what to check before getting behind the decks, the essential points to know, as well as tips and tricks for mixing in front of an audience, whether in a club or any other type of event.

I'll also share my personal experience as a DJ: I started from scratch, created my own events, mixed alongside international artists, and played in various clubs abroad. We'll cover everything you need to know about bookings: fees, what to ask for, and how to operate as a DJ, especially internationally.

We will also cover the creation of a technical rider, an artist press kit, important information to pass on to promoters, as well as everything related to promoting an artist.

I'm a 32-year-old DJ and I've been mixing since I was 18. I've progressed through all the stages: from starting out in my basement for friends, to birthday parties, to becoming a resident DJ at a club with international DJs. I've organized my own events, DJed abroad, and I've also worked as a club promoter, which has given me a deep understanding of the promotional side of things and the criteria for selecting DJs.

Today, I continue to DJ all over Belgium.

Finally, the course can be given in French, Dutch, English and possibly Spanish.
