It's never too late to start learning something new! I offer piano and basic musical knowledge lessons/tutorials to people of every age.

I'm a Polish piano student based in Brussels who enjoys teaching and sharing the knowledge I try to extend and develop every day.

I offer piano lessons from beginner to advanced, theory and history of music. Note that the student needs to have a piano/keyboard at home. My lessons are conducted in English or Polish.

I'm a Polish student based in Brussels. As I am both truly passionate about teaching and a native speaker, I offer Polish lessons for every level and age! I always choose teaching/learning methods individually with the students as every one of you has different goals, interests and needs. I offer basic language lessons from beginner to advanced, tutorials (also on specific chosen topics, for example business or medical) and conversations (A2-C2). I can teach online (I'm open to every communication tool), at student's place or in public places of our choice.

I also offer group classes from 2 to 4 people. If you and your friends/family are interested, please contact me :).

Learning a new language can be fun! I'm very much looking forward to introducing you to the fascinating world of learning Polish!

Hello to everyone!
My name is María, I am a Venezuelan Cellist.
All my musical education was inside the musical program "El Sistema" in Venezuela. This education was based on preparing myself as a better human being though playing cello in orchestras, chamber music and as soloist.
I am current studying my Master degree at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel.
In what consist my lessons?
Cello classes for all levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced), it does not matter if you have never played cello before or if you are already studying, the important thing is to help you achieve the goals you want with this beautiful instrument.
To have better results with practice, if it is necessary to help you with music theory, I will help you.
As well, if you're looking for help in orchestral excerpts for auditions, I'm here for you!
For kids, parental support is also important during some lesson, we are all a team and we need to work together to achieve the goals!
Classes can be in person at your house or mine (BRUSSELS, BELGIUM) or via videocall (Skype, Zoom, etc). The schedules are planned according to the time of the student and the teacher.

Lessons in piano, harpsichord, and historical and modern cello, with program and repertoire, adapted to the goals and speed of each student, whether young, not so young, or adult, for a general introduction to these instruments, for preparation for high music education, as a supplementary aid for exams in music academies, or for a hobby, or for amateur group music-making, or for developing qualities as concentration, coordination, discipline, expressibility, awareness of styles and music history.
In my teaching, I rely mostly on old traditional methods, books, and repertoire, which have proved their efficiency over the time. I also make use of the teaching tradition of partimenti of the old Neapolitan conservatories - exercises for composing that can be applied from early stage. This not only adds a creative element soon after very beginning, but also teaches via practice the basics of harmony and polyphony.
Lessons can be combined (+30min.) with theory/solfege (ear training), if the student wishes.
English, Nederlands, française, Deutsch.
I have been teaching for more than 15 years, privately, in Brussels, and in New York in the past, more than 100 students.
I am a graduate of Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, in baroque cello and harpsichord, but I play also modern cello organ, and piano.

A music theory course for anyone who wants to start with a solid foundation in music, or for an already advanced musician who wants to go further. This course is also perfect for an academy or conservatory student who wishes to prepare for the music theory exam.

Despite the fact that this is a so-called theoretical course, everything that is seen will first be worked on in a musical context and experienced by the student in order to be assimilated. The theoretical explanations will follow from it by itself.

On the program (student's choice)

- Ear training (knowing how to rewrite melodies with one or more voices, chords, etc.)

- Note readings in one or more keys

- Rhythm readings, polyrhythmic work

- Encryption and recognition of agreements,

- Transposition.

This musical theory lesson suits to every level, from the one who wants to learn how to read music to the one who wants to know more about chords, transposition or polyrythms. This lesson is also perfect for a student who wants to prepare an examination.

In despite the fact I called these lesson "Musical theory", it is firstly about understanding the music. And that can only be possible by ... doing music. So be aware that we will be singing, playing chords, clapping rhythms, ... My purpose is that the student understand by himself first, then the theory will come naturally.

What we can do during a lesson (student can choose):

- Ear training (Learn to catch a melody of one or several voices and write it down by ear, recognizing chords, recognizing rhythms, ...)

- Rythmical work: learn to clap different rhythms in different time signatures. Also included polyrythms.

- Key reading, in one or several keys.

- Transposition (learn how to read a flute sheet while you're playing trumpet, ..)

Posture and comfort with the instrument are the foundation for playing the guitar. I often make the connection with other musical instruments such as percussion, wind instruments and singing.

Separating and understanding the roles of the two hands is another important step in the course. One hand plays the rhythm and the other plays the notes on the fretboard. There are many exercises to develop the knowledge and skills of both hands.
