During my musical education I had the opportunity to study in different conservatories in Spain, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands and Switzerland, awakening in me a passion for teaching the violin and viola and thus beginning to give private lessons and coaching youth orchestras. In my lessons I help the student to feel enjoyment while playing, and feel happy with their instrument in order to connect with their musical imagination. Considering the level and age, different methods and exercises will structure the lesson in order to get good aural skills, sense of rhythm and an optimal body posture. As a viola player, I specialize in viola lessons from beginning to a more advanced level, but I also can teach violin to beginners or intermediate. The method I use is first to adapt to the student's wishes and then find a way to achieve this within a relaxed and healthy relationship with the instrument. This approach is based on technique and of course making music! In this lesson we could also work different styles, as I like to experiment and I find important to expand your knowledge and have a wider idea about expression while making music.

My name is Daniela, and I am a cross-over violist from Costa Rica. I moved to the Netherlands in 2020 to pursue my studies at Codarts Conservatory in Rotterdam, where I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Classical Music (Viola). I am currently continuing my journey at Codarts with a Master's degree in Latin Music. During my time in the Netherlands, I have been part of a wide range of musical projects across different genres — from classical orchestras and chamber music to pop, jazz, and world music collaborations. I've performed with ensembles such as the Jong Metropole and recorded with various pop, jazz, and fusion bands. I am also the bandleader of my own Latin project, La Reunión, and work as a freelance musician with diverse musical groups. Before moving to the Netherlands, I studied Music Education at the University of Costa Rica and worked for several years as a private teacher. I have experience teaching violin and viola to both children and adults. As a teacher, I am kind and patient. I believe in the value of consistent, focused work and in helping students grow step by step. I aim to make the learning process feel easy and fun!

Hi there, I'm a professional viola and violin teacher, teaching in person and online, in English, German or Russian. As well as instrumental teaching and ensemble coaching of all ages and levels over the last 12 years, I’ve led numerous professional workshops, including ‘Music First’ and ‘Music Masters’ in London and have taught on the Senior and Primary Arpeggione Viola Courses. As a member of the European String Teachers’ Association, I participated in their conferences across Europe, including at the European Parliament in 2018. I also prepare students for music exams, auditions and competitions at all levels, and work with them on music theory, aural and sight reading skills, and can accompany them the piano. Alongside my teaching I perform internationally as a soloist and chamber musician, including at Kings Place London, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and Philharmonie Berlin. I am a Hattori Foundation and Villa Musica artist, winner of the Małopolska competition, the Barbirolli Prize at the Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition and the Len Lickorish Memorial Prize at the Royal Overseas League International Strings Competition. I hold a masters degree with first class honours from the class of Tabea Zimmermann at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin, and Bachelors with the same distinction from the Royal Academy of Music in London, where I began in the primary department almost 20 years ago. I'm an avid chamber musician, and am a founding member of Ensemble Textura, a string ensemble based in Berlin, performing renowned works alongside experimental arrangements and lesser known masterpieces.
