I am Stephanie A. Timo, 25 years old. I am a licensed Professional Teacher. I
graduated with a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education with a major in Music,
Arts, Physical Education and Health in January 2019. I am currently taking up my
Master’s degree in Physical Education at Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of
Technology with 24 units earned.
I have experienced teaching as a MAPEH teacher at different levels at St. Therese
Academy. With the desire to train myself early for the challenges of being an educator,
I also experienced teaching as a substitute health teacher at Philippine Science High
School – Central Mindanao Campus for seven months. After I ended my contract, I
worked as the Dean of the Department of Physical Education and part-time Instructor
at Lugait College for two semesters. After that, I worked as Physical Education
Instructor at Cagayan de Oro College (PHINMA) for one semester. I’m currently
working as Secretary of the School of Education at Xavier University – Ateneo de
Cagayan.
Given this experience, I believe that I am ready to take on the responsibilities, as I
have already equipped myself with skills and knowledge that I have gained through the
series of lectures I attended in school and through the seminars, trainings, and
internships I have attended in the past. My dedication to excellence in my career, work
experience, and interpersonal and social abilities are the assets I possess for success
in this role. I am resourceful, adaptable, quick to learn, and have excellent

I was born in Istanbul in 1983. I started teaching Turkish while studying Turkish Language and Literature at university. I worked in a language school and at universities. I have been teaching Turkish professionally for more than 16 years. I also taught Turkish for 5 years when I was a university student. In 2018, I obtained a TESOL certificate and also began teaching English.

I teach both adults and children. Creating a comfortable learning environment for my students is one of my top priorities. If you would like to learn Turkish or English in a consistent and structured way, I would be happy to work with you.

I hold firmly to two main principles: creating a comfortable space for learning and building an encouraging atmosphere.

My students often describe me as patient, positive, and well-organised. Over time, I’ve found my own way of making Turkish feel easier, more enjoyable, and more practical to learn.

I love shaping each lesson around my students’ interests, needs, and learning styles. I adapt my teaching to the needs of students with special conditions, such as ADHD and OCD.

In my lessons, you’ll never feel afraid of making mistakes. Before long, you’ll start noticing them on your own and correcting yourself naturally.

Even though I use a communicative approach, my lessons are supported by a solid understanding of grammar, as Turkish has a very different structure.

I use the course book set prepared by Istanbul University. It follows a strategic approach to learning Turkish and includes all language skills—reading, grammar, writing, listening, watching, and speaking—from A1 to C2. All of these skills are essential for conversation.

I teach English for the A1 and A2 levels.

The workbook offers many exercises for homework or revision, and I support the book with my own authentic materials. I also use an interactive board that you can view anytime, and you can edit it as well. Repetition-based speaking practice plays an important role in my lessons.

I speak English well, and a bit of Italian, and I have also studied Persian and German grammar. I am interested in literature.

High School Math can be confusing for students. Often there is not enough time in school to repeat the content and practice enough, for the students to gain confidence and a routine in solving mathematical problems. With my help and guidance, any confusion will be cleared and we will practice problem solving until you are confident and understand the material.
