What are we going to learn?
Pronunciation - we will learn how to accurately pronounce Russian sounds.
Speaking skills - we are going to focus on developing speaking skills in form of short dialogues in real time situations
Reading skills: Understanding of short texts.
Writing skills: we will learn how to write extended paragraphs and how to express yourself in a written form.
Grammar we will cover basic grammar points, such as common verbs, gender of the nouns/adjectives, pronouns and much more.
Listening skills: we will work on understanding spoken Russian

Make sure you have a stable Internet connection and up-to-date laptop, a notebook and a pen to write down your answers for the tasks we will be doing. If you have a Russian-English dictionary, that would be handy.
At the end, I will send you the lesson content in PowerPoint or PDF format as well as homework.

Hi, I'm Lena, enthusiastic, qualified Teacher for Modern Languages. I've been teaching in a Secondary School Spanish, French and Russian language since 2017. I hold MA in Translation Studies and BA in Spanish Language and Literature and Russian Studies. Furthermore, I teach GCSE (foundation & higher level), A-levels for Spanish and Russian language (AQA and Edexcel exam board).
I am a native speaker of Russian and Slovene language.

Exam Questions - we will learn structure of exam and looked at past papers
Themes - we are going to cover all the themes (and subthemes) that you need to know for successfully passing GCSE or A-level exam.
Analysing a book and a film (for A-level): Understanding works and being able to analyse themes, subthemes, hidden messages and characters
Writing skills: we will learn how to write a structured essay and how to express yourself in a written form in Spanish language.
Grammar we will cover advanced grammar points, such as idiomatic expressions, participles, use of "expressions with subjuntivo".

I was born in Istanbul in 1983. I started teaching Turkish while studying Turkish Language and Literature at university. I worked in a language school and at universities. I have been teaching Turkish professionally for more than 16 years. I also taught Turkish for 5 years when I was a university student. In 2018, I obtained a TESOL certificate and also began teaching English.

I teach both adults and children. Creating a comfortable learning environment for my students is one of my top priorities. If you would like to learn Turkish or English in a consistent and structured way, I would be happy to work with you.

I hold firmly to two main principles: creating a comfortable space for learning and building an encouraging atmosphere.

My students often describe me as patient, positive, and well-organised. Over time, I’ve found my own way of making Turkish feel easier, more enjoyable, and more practical to learn.

I love shaping each lesson around my students’ interests, needs, and learning styles. I adapt my teaching to the needs of students with special conditions, such as ADHD and OCD.

In my lessons, you’ll never feel afraid of making mistakes. Before long, you’ll start noticing them on your own and correcting yourself naturally.

Even though I use a communicative approach, my lessons are supported by a solid understanding of grammar, as Turkish has a very different structure.

I use the course book set prepared by Istanbul University. It follows a strategic approach to learning Turkish and includes all language skills—reading, grammar, writing, listening, watching, and speaking—from A1 to C2. All of these skills are essential for conversation.

I teach English for the A1 and A2 levels.

The workbook offers many exercises for homework or revision, and I support the book with my own authentic materials. I also use an interactive board that you can view anytime, and you can edit it as well. Repetition-based speaking practice plays an important role in my lessons.

I speak English well, and a bit of Italian, and I have also studied Persian and German grammar. I am interested in literature.

Western Armenian is a language that has been put in the endangered language's list, and I personally believe that such a rich language should never die. I believe that I am taking a huge initiative to be one of the individuals who'll try to save this important language from disappearing.
I try to make my lessons as interacting as possible. The lessons and exercises will be provided through PowerPoint presentations. I try to listen to my student in order to prepare the lesson plan together, according to his needs and preferences.
