I have always felt particularly free and happy every time I traveled and I was able to live -at least for a while- in different environments and societies. So a few years after I finished high school I decided that the best choice for my career would be something that both has an impact on people and allows me to be independent. Then as soon as I started to study to become an English-Spanish Translator I also started to work as a teacher. And it felt right from the very beginning!
Now, after several years of experience and having lived in different countries (Argentina, Spain, New Zealand, Australia, the Netherlands and Denmark) I feel that I am ready to share with you not only what I know about languages but also all my enthusiasm so that our lessons be succesful for both of us. I look forward to meeting you soon!

For the past two decades, I've had the privilege of tutoring in both French and English. My students have ranged in age, background, and origin, spanning children, teenagers, adults, professionals, and even seniors aged 85 and above.

You might wonder why I teach both languages. Well, I am bilingual, with American and Swiss/French roots, and I currently reside in Ireland. My teaching journey began during my time studying social work in French-speaking Switzerland. TECHNOLOGIES FOR LEARNING.

Hey,

My name is Laurie and I am an independent FLE teacher, graduated in French and Romance languages and literature since 2012. I have five years of experience under my belt (abroad and in Belgium). I have created a teaching method for online courses.

The course includes:
-The material (articles, videos, exercises from images and texts, grammatical theory, links to the exercises...). I use Google Doc so it's best to have a Gmail address to access it.
-The correction of exercises outside of class (the written expressions are corrected outside of class, or with the student, according to his needs).
-Access to an application (free) to study vocabulary on your smartphone.
-A vocabulary sheet - pronunciation - grammar / conjugation, sent after each course.
-If necessary, a vocabulary recording (for beginners).
-The realization of online exercises and tests from the sent vocabulary sheets.
-Motivation, laughter, good mood :-)

My method:
- It's based on speaking.
-For grammar I use a question/answer method (learned during the training at the CERAN center).
-We work on pronunciation with the verbotonal method (exercises for setting your voice, for rhythm, etc.). I might even make you sing! :-)
-Everything goes through the spoken word before the written word, but I clearly adapt to the needs of the students.
-The course is a little different for children and adolescents: I use interactive games and cards via webcam.
