In de eerste 2/3 lessen ligt de focus op het vinden van de beste manier om jou te ondersteunen. Per leerling is dit verschillend, dus ik zal in goed overleg met jou zoeken naar de beste manier om jou te helpen met je schoolwerk. Dit kan zijn het bespreken van theorie, het samen maken van opdrachten of het oefenen van voorbeeldtoetsen. Hierbij maak ik gebruik van de app Microsoft Whiteboard, waarvan ik jou na de les een PDF toestuur, zodat je alles wat we hebben besproken nog eens kunt bekijken!

Ik ben een rustig, sociaal en geduldig persoon, met een uitgebreide kennis in scheikunde, natuurkunde en wiskunde. Daarnaast beheers ik de Nederlandse, Engelse en Italiaanse taal goed, dus ook daar kan ik je mee helpen. Ik geef les aan leerlingen en studenten op de middelbare school, MBO, HBO en WO, voor alle niveaus en alle leeftijden.

Ik ben Jelmer. Ik heb het VWO afgerond met een natuur & techniek profiel, en ben inmiddels afgestudeerd scheikundige (BSc en MSc). Tijdens mijn middelbare school tijd ben ik begonnen met het geven van bijlessen aan leerlingen op het HAVO en VWO. Ik merkte toen al dat ik leerlingen helpen met het begrijpen van de stof heel erg leuk vind, en daarom ben ik dit blijven doen in mijn studententijd. Inmiddels heb ik al meer dan vijf jaar ervaring in het geven van bijlessen, en ik doe dit nog steeds met heel veel plezier!

Het geeft mij heel veel voldoening om te zien dat mijn bijdrage leerlingen helpt de stof beter te begrijpen en daardoor hogere cijfers te halen voor toetsen. Ik heb in mijn tijd als bijlesdocent bij leerlingen het kwartje zien vallen, en dit geeft mij motivatie om leerlingen te helpen op een gepersonaliseerde manier. Want elke leerling is anders, en werkt anders. Ik pas de les aan op het tempo en niveau van de leerling, en zo werken we samen toe naar een hoger niveau.

Ik ben een geduldig persoon en zorg altijd voor een productieve en fijne sfeer tijdens de les. Dit is heel belangrijk, zodat je je vrij voelt vragen te stellen en fouten te maken! Want uiteindelijk is dat de beste manier om te leren.

Ik ben een MSc Civiele Techniek, M.Sc Financiën en Economie en een MBA-afgestudeerde met meer dan 14 jaar ervaring in het lesgeven van Wiskunde tot en met bachelorniveau. I offer mathematics tutoring for children and teenagers.

My approach goes beyond simply teaching math. My main objective is to help students learn how to learn. Many students struggle not because they are “bad at math,” but because they were never shown how to understand, practice, and think independently. That is exactly what I focus on.

From my own experience, I understand how frustrating and demotivating the school system and traditional classes can feel when explanations are unclear or rushed. That is why I take the time to explain concepts step by step, in a calm and structured way, until they truly make sense.

I aim to build confidence, logical thinking, and independence, so students don’t just solve exercises during the lesson, but are able to approach problems on their own afterward.
