About Me

Music teacher since 2003. Full-time in Boston, MA for the initial four years.
Very experienced with all ages, from absolute beginners through higher intermediates or college levels.
Classical multi-instrumentalist, singer with specialized studies in Early Music, composition and conducting.
Have played non-classical when young, and can teach keyboard chords playing, and non-classical US and Brazilian singing, as well.
Teaching online since August 2020.
Most online teaching have consisted on Violin, Viola, Piano and Voice, with strong focus on theory and harmony, when interest arises, as well as on an easy to understand but refined technique.
Have dedicated quite a bit of time to Bach playing on Keyboard.

I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. My name is Fabiola, and I am a violin and viola teacher and children’s orchestra conductor based in Maastricht. I work with students of all ages, creating a supportive, creative, and personalized learning environment where each student can grow at their own pace and enjoy making music.

As an active orchestral performer, I bring my professional experience on stage directly into my teaching. I help students develop a solid technique while fostering musicality, expression, and confidence. I use a variety of teaching approaches, including Suzuki, ABRSM, Trinity, and Galamian methods, adapting them to each student’s age, personality, and goals.

In my lessons, I also focus on how to practice effectively at home, tackle challenging passages, and prepare confidently for public performances.

I began my musical journey with El Sistema in Venezuela and continued my studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid, specializing in both performance and pedagogy. I completed a Master’s in Violin Performance with a focus on Spanish music, as well as a symphonic master’s in collaboration with the Spanish Radio and Television Orchestra (Orquesta RTVE).

I currently collaborate with the Philharmonie Zuidnederland and the Spanish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra, while also teaching private violin and viola lessons.
