Hello! My name is Sophie and I'm from the Philippines. I am passionate about teaching the Tagalog and Bisaya language and culture. With extensive experience in language instruction, I have had the privilege of guiding students from diverse backgrounds and helping them unlock the beauty of the Tagalog and bisaya language.
My teaching methodology is centered around a student-centered approach, emphasizing active learning, critical thinking, and collaborative projects. I incorporate a variety of instructional techniques, including differentiated instruction, project-based learning, and formative assessments, to cater to the unique needs of each student. My goal is to cultivate a love for learning and empower students to become confident and independent thinkers.

Native from the Philippines offers an individualized pedagogy to learn the languages of the Philippines: Tagalog and/or Cebuano/Bisaya. My goal is to promote the languages of the Philippines in Europe, in general and in France, helping future Filipino tourists learn the language before traveling to the Philippines, as well as helping European Filipinos learn the language of their parents.

In this course, we will cover the basics of the Filipino language: pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar. Various activities will be organized to promote mastery of sentence construction and improvement of the power of words. Cultural contributions will be included such as fiesta celebrations, food, songs and lifestyle.
