Ciao! Salve! I am Dutch, lived in Rome for more than 30 years and now I live in a small village in Sweden. I love Italy, its culture and language, and this resulted in a Master in Italian (and a Bachelor in French). Before I moved to Sweden I travelled with my former husband throughout the world. We lived in Australia, USA and in Europe speaking all their different languages. So, languages are a kind of “my thing”.
With me you can learn Italian at all levels; from your first approach to the most advanced. I like to give you tailor-fit lessons, which I will prepare in advance. Afterwards I will give you direct personal feed-back like transcripts of our conversation which could be of help for your further learning. I care mostly about speaking and learning the Italian culture, but also about right grammar use and vocabulary.

I use several methods which are specially conceived to teach Dutch to people who have a different mother tongue. I really like to use methods out of the ordinary like role games or methods with which you learn while playing. All these adapted to the student's situation of course. If you wish to brush up your Italian, resume a past series of lessons, or simply start from scratch learning Italian, this is the right lesson for you! I like to personalize each class/course according to the needs and goals of my students. My classes are focused on improving the student's communication skills. At beginner and lower intermediate levels, I prefer using a text book/ student book in the first part of the class. I usually use "Nuovissimo Progetto Italiano" and "Arrivederci" by Edilingua, or "Nuovo Espresso" and "Dieci" by Alma Publishing. For the second part of the lesson, I create engaging contents using original videos, press articles, extracts from blogs and social media, literary texts. If the students do not feel comfortable using Italian from scratch, I can switch to English, German, or Dutch. The course fee includes the correction of home assignments.
