This is Laura, I am a polyglot translator and language teacher for 10+ years.

Lately, more specifically since the pandemic, I have been experiencing teaching Spanish, Catalan and French online, which turned out to be very easy, fun and convenient for both me and my students. Sometimes we also manage to meet in person and have our class face-to-face, and if desired, I even organize meetings with other students in order to have an opportunity to practice the language together in a fun ambience! :)

Apart from that, I have been trained as an actor in a drama school in Barcelona, so I combine language lessons with being on stage every now and then. So, as you might have guessed, I am quite an extrovert and I'm passionate for communication, in all its forms!

My lessons are fun and always adapted to the students' communication needs. Every class is different as every day is different! In each one of our lessons, we will combine speaking, grammar, reading and and listening as it goes, so that you can have a natural approach to the language, while also following a thorough pedagogical approach.

We can have our lessons in a relaxed atmosphere, enjoying various aspects of learning a language. It's not just about memorizing complex conjugations!

I work with a variety of online resources, all of which is shared with you after the lesson. For structure and to evaluate progress, I also work with certain books depending on the level and the requirement. Unless you wish to focus on specific skills, I try to include speaking, listening and reading during the session, while writing exercises are given as homework. I like to use different methods to teach French to students. It can be through songs, drama, role play or videos. I also very often use situations close to the student's experience, such as describing places they have been or talking about what they have experienced. At the same time, I teach the grammar rules to the student. I now live in regions where French has been spoken for over 30 years. My name is Dani and I am Mexican. I always ask my students about their specific goals and their preferred way of learning a language. In my classes I like to take a conversational approach, but this depends entirely on the needs of my students. I use different books with different didactic material, mostly Aula Plus and Bitacora. I also try to practice all skills: talking, writing and listening. If the student wants it, I leave homework, which I correct during the week before the next lesson, so that we can make the most of the lesson time. I share a word or phrase of the week with my students to build a useful vocabulary. Teaching is my passion. I feel motivated by the progress of my students, which I believe also keeps them motivated. German and Spanish are my native languages and I speak fluent English, I also speak fluent Dutch (with a little accent). Therefore, I can explain concepts in all these languages. However, I prefer to speak Spanish as much as possible, also for the beginners lessons, because I believe that people learn the language better that way.

I have a FPELE certificate: Spanish as a Foreign Language Teacher Training. And I have taught A1 to B2 level at a language institute in Spain.
