English language and literature preparation for GCSE lessons

I teach English at GCSE level, including language and literature components. This class will provide you with rigorous practice of GCSE-level essays, in accordance with the respective exam boards, and help you build the correct skillset to ascertain that A-A* in your English exam!

My teaching style is mainly practical and conversational, requiring active engagement from myself, as well as the student. The lesson will have active discussion and feedback on practiced work. Students will be given some tasks to do after every lesson, upon which they will be given constructive feedback to hone their skills.

I would describe myself as an engaging and enthusiastic teacher! I have over 4 years of experience in teaching and tutoring English as a second language. I am currently a PhD researcher at King’s College London and run this tutoring business on the side, as I enjoy motivating students to learn new skills and overcome challenges.

I have studied English language and literature for all of my academic life and being multi-lingual (Fluent in Dutch and Sinhala), I understand how difficult it is to learn a language as a complete beginner.
