Objective:
Improve students’ speaking, listening, and vocabulary skills.
Build confidence in communicating in English.
Engage students with fun, real-life scenarios where they can practice English in an interactive way.
Exemple of my Activity:
Two Truths and a Lie
Each student shares three statements about themselves: two truths and one lie.
The rest of the class has to guess which statement is the lie.
This game is a fun way to get students to speak, listen carefully, and practice conversational skills.
Practice communication in real-life situations.
Activity:
I divide the students into pairs or small groups.
Give each group a scenario to role-play. Examples of scenarios:
At a restaurant: One person is a customer, the other is the waiter/waitress.
Making plans with friends: Discussing where to go and what to do for the weekend.
At the airport: One student is asking for information about their flight, and the other is an airport staff member.
Lost in the city: One person asks for directions, and the other gives directions in English.
After 5 minutes of role-playing, have them present their dialogue to the class or to another pair.
Materials Needed: Scenario cards (you can write these on pieces of paper or create a PowerPoint presentation with images to match the scenarios).
