Tutor for K-6 Math,

Basic reading and math skills are essential for success. Courses are provided for K-6 with a focus on phonics(primarily for elementary), reading comprehension, reading fluency, and semantics. ELA tutoring is offered to develop writing skills (grammar, capitalization, punctuation, etc.) and spelling. The math courses will vary based on the grade level. The Biology courses will cover several topics including biomolecules, protein synthesis, genetics, cell processes, and much more!

Hello! I'm Valencia, a dedicated and passionate tutor with over two years of experience working with children aged 2 to 18. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Biology with a minor in Education from Huston-Tillotson University, and a Master's degree in Biology with an emphasis in higher education from Grand Canyon University.
My expertise lies in teaching Biology to middle and high school students, as well as Reading/ELA and Math to elementary students. Over the years, I have successfully helped students improve their grades, prepare for exams, and develop a deeper understanding of their subjects. My tutoring approach is tailored to each student's unique needs and learning style, ensuring a personalized and effective learning experience.
I am committed to creating a supportive and interactive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring topics in depth. Whether we are working on foundational skills or advanced concepts, my goal is to make learning enjoyable and effective.
I find it extremely rewarding to see students grasp concepts they initially struggled with and to witness their excitement and engagement grow throughout the learning process. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy painting, hiking, swimming, traveling, and spending time with my family.
