Study with an experienced professional teacher, performer.
I specialize in teaching basslines, improvisation, harmony-theory, reading music, melodic playing, applying it all to jazz standards, grooves, rhythmic concepts and technique for both Electric and Double Bass. My students range from beginners to advanced and ages 11 upwards.
I always make sure we take things from the level you are at and work on developing your playing step by step. I have devised a core programme, but there's lots of room to focus on my student's individual goals and create personal lesson and practice plans.

I have been teaching for almost 3 decades. Teaching assistant at California Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles, then tutor at Jeff Berlin's Playerschool of Music in Tampa Fl. Since 2001, I am a principal lecturer for both Electric and Double bass and ensemble leader at Leeds Conservatoire.

I am an easy-going teacher, always make sure that my students feel comfortable so they can absorb the lesson material in a relaxed atmosphere.

Jawa (1996) a Syrian oud player, singer and composer.
I was born in Aleppo, and I grew up in Damascus, Syria. I started playing music at the age of eleven. I chose the Oud as my instrument because my father used to play it everyday at home when I was young. Gradually, I fell in love with it and now I feel an unlimited feeling of freedom while playing it. Graduated from Rotterdam Conservatory in 2021.
