About Me

My academic training and seven years of experience working as a faculty member in different universities in Turkey prepare me an effective researcher and instructor at your institution. I have received my PhD in economics in 2009 from Georgetown University which is one of the most prestigious and well-known universities in United States. My doctoral dissertation examines monetary policy shocks using a DSGE model and analyzes the role of labor market institutions on inflation and wage dynamics. During my PhD study at Georgetown University, I also worked as a teaching assistant and helped students in various undergraduate and graduate courses.
Until I obtained my tenure and become an Associate Professor of Economics in October 2013, my research agenda was about Turkish banking industry. As you may also see in my CV, I published various papers in well-known journals about credit channel of monetary policy, concentration and competition, determinants of non-performing loans and profitability in Turkish banking sector. After I get my tenure, my research agenda is generally shaped by energy economics and I published various academic papers and non-academic policy reports on this issue. One of papers entitled “Energy Future of Europe and the Role of Southern Gas Corridor” was chosen as one of the well-written policy papers in United States. My position as a senior fellow at Caspian Strategy Institute, an Istanbul based think tank, significantly contributed my research portfolio during this period.
Besides my research portfolio, I also build strong educational skills during the past seven years as a faculty member in different universities. I taught various courses at the undergraduate and graduate level and obtained strong evaluations from my students. Microeconomics, Economic Policy, Financial Economics, Industrial Economics and Financial Accounting may be listed as some of the courses that I teach at the undergraduate level. At the graduate level, I generally teach finance courses including Advance Finance, Financial Management, Derivative Products, and International Economics.
With my experience, training and enthusiasm I am prepared to establish my research agenda at your valuable institution. I am looking forward to teach courses in various fields of economics and finance. I am also prepared to develop new courses that would fit in and enrich your existing curriculum.

I really enjoyed our first lesson. Mr. Fatih really helped me to understand the concepts in simpler ways. Looking forward for upcoming lessons.
Actually he is very good in explaining hard aspects, he is so good and if he was my prof , surely I chose the financial stream in his lessons I learned all parts of Afc deeply
Excellent experience with a resourceful teacher of the broad economy. Highly recommended.
Although I did my first lesson with Fatih, I learned a lot. He knows the answers to all the questions you ask. He is friendly and entertaining. He allows you to understand the lesson like a professional teacher. and he knows what to teach. He helped me overcome my fear of finance course. I'm already excited about other lessons that I will get with him.
Mr. Fatih really understood my weakness and helped me built an new set of skills to adapt with the AP Macroeconomics exam. We went through examples and simply and slowly learn the concepts.

Instead I ensure that they get the logic and they are able to apply theoretical concepts to real life issues.

Cryptocurrency investing for beginners (from level 0)
Investing in cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum etc) is an activity that can allow you to have extra income every month with very little time invested in it (you can easily do it just a few days a month, and after working hours) However, the amount of information online on how to start this activity can be overwhelming and confusing. Since I have been investing in crypto for 5 years, and achieved financial freedom through it, I can show you the basics and also the systems I constantly use to create a long-term profitable portfolio, while getting weekly, compounded, passive income in the meanwhile. Just some of the topics we'll cover, that we'll give you confidence on your long-term investments: - What is Bitcoin? - What is the blockchain? - What is Ethereum? - Other key cryptocurrencies - Some examples - Where can i learn more on my own (top non-biased media resources i used for the last 5 years)? - Where can i buy and sell cryptocurrencies? - Why does Bitcoin go up massively every 4 years? - How does the market REALLY work? - - How can I create a long-term portfolio with just a little bit of time invested every week? (explained step-by-step) - When should i buy and sell my cryptocurrencies? (personal opinion) Also, if you have ANY doubts in between classes, i will give you my contact details and reply to you within 24h Give it a try and I promise you will love it :) *The Services Offered are NOT Financial Advice*
