The freehand drawing is the first tool used in designing a building, the daily practice of the architectural design process. In the age of computers, despite its visibility has decreased, freehand drawings have become even more precious; the role of freehand drawing in communicating our ideas and thoughts gives us the opportunity to make use of the simplest intuitive connection between our mind and the hand through exercising our bidimensional skills in order to represent a tridimensional universe.

The class will be organised upon the traditional still life drawing technique in atelier/workshop. The student is placed at a distance from the still figure that allows them to place their easel and paper next to the object to be represented. The drawing and the object will be the same size, which allows for easier comparison of distances and angles carefully measured.
We will learn hatching technique used to create tonal or shading effects, and many other techniques of drawing elements of design: layer tinting, texturing and form lines.

The class includes advanced notions of perspective.

The main medium is graphite pencils, but we will also learn how to use instruments like charcoal, ink, watercolor, inked brushes, various kinds of erasers.

The world of sewing is a world where patience and persistence are very necessary.
You will learn to make a pattern to a standard measure at first. Then we will move to the realization of patterns to a specific measure.
The training of hand sewing as well as the use of the sewing machine and the overlock machine are included in the module.
The course can adapt according to the needs as well as the level of the student.

I've been painting since 20 years ago, recently I start working with children, in small groups (3 max) in class we enjoy working in small proyects. I enjoy teaching children through art and music. We work different techniques, depend on the kids Age.

A lot of people think they cannot draw. But before drawing, it is about "seeing". Actually if you can see, you can draw. Not only objects, but portraits, animals, whatever you want. By developing the aptitude of observing the reality using the right part of your brain, you learn how to draw what you really see instead of drawing what you think you already know about this reality.
This technique was a revelation as it allowed me to progress quickly when I was young. It's on this base that I will help you to learn another way of looking at things around you and show you some tricks to overcome difficulties as perspective, foreshorten,...

I am a visual artist born in Barcelona, settled in Belgium since 2017. As an artist I have accumulated experience for the last 25 years. I am graduated with an Academic Bachelor in Fine Arts in the University of Barcelona and graduated as a Master in Visual Arts at Sint Lucas School of Arts in Antwerpen.

I am specialised in painting, drawing, experimental films, installations, language, sound and curating. In other words, I am a multidisciplinary artist.

I understand the artistic practice as a way to understand ourselves and the situations which surrounds us. In my classes I don't teach how to do Art, but as how to say something through your artistic work. With me you can work independently, with a coach who will challenge you with some assignments and giving feedback to your personal concerns.

In addition, you will learn how to work with several mediums, preparing your own material: paintings, canvases, and so on.

You will not only receive individual coaching but as encourage you to look other artists or take into account other references connected with your concerns.

Finding, discussing and retaking solutions together are the core of my classes.

Hello! My name is Rocio and I'm a Spanish Artist from Madrid giving private art lessons to kids in Brussels (Belgium).
I studied Fine Arts and Visual Design in Madrid and graduated in 2020, ever since I have been working as a graphic designer and part-time private art teacher for kids.

As an artist, I have a solid basis of materials, composition, shape and color, but I know those aren't essential skills when approaching art for the first time, the most important is the attitude towards it. As kids are always eager to try new materials, my lessons focus in experimenting through painting while having fun in the process, with the idea that painting is a really intuitive skill that everyone and anyone can enjoy.

I can teach the lessons in English, Spanish and/or French and adapt to the needs and language level of my students.
