Are you looking to improve your drawing skills or you don't even know where to start but you dream of an art career? This is an individual course design depending on your request and your starting level. Each course includes lessons filled with instruction information, practice time and homework assignment. You can begin with Level 1 and continue further or choose to start on a specific level. Level 1 - This course is an absolute beginner level. You can hold a pencil and a brush but the starting is so stressful and confusing. You're scared of making a mistake, you don't know where to begin, you're getting lost when it comes to composition or shading whenever you start to draw. I GOT YOU! Those are very common feelings when you start to draw and it can be discouraging, give you a feeling of being stuck or just very dissatisfied with your art. In this course I will guide you through basic traditional art techniques such as pencil sketching, pen and ink drawing, watercolor, and acrylic painting. We will be studying composition, forms, shapes, structure and texture of different objects such as fabric, furniture, animal fur, plants etc. I’ll show you how to achieve depth in your shading, how to understand light, and the effect of fragility of plants or hardship and reflection of metal. I’ll teach you observation, things to look for in the drawing, but most of all I'll give you tools for future independent learning that will save you tons of time while figuring on your own! The key to success is your motivation and time you will dedicate to your homework practice. Level 2 - This course is directed towards people who have some basic understanding of traditional art media techniques such as pencil sketching, pen and ink drawing, watercolor, and acrylic painting. Your art is currently your hobby, but you would like to change it into a career? Know more about art as a business model, get insights into career tips and opportunities. Or do you want to improve your sketching skills, learn to digitise your work, create digital illustrations in Procreate, or combine it all in your own unique way? Level 3 - Advanced. It will focus on your specific desire as an artist and adjust to your skills and technique preferences. During the first introduction skills, I’ll provide some exercises to see how you work and together we will find the way we can work and improve.

This is a class for anyone who loves to create and appreciates the beauty and hidden wonders of life. With activities ranging from painting, drawing, collaging, and even making sculptures out of found objects, learn and/or improve your art skills by pushing yourself a little, or a lot, with this class. If you are an absolute beginner, or a professional seeking to diversify your practice, these lessons will undoubtedly challenge you as an artist. I am a visual artist born in Barcelona, settled in Belgium since 2017. As an artist I have accumulated experience for the last 25 years. I am graduated with an Academic Bachelor in Fine Arts in the University of Barcelona and graduated as a Master in Visual Arts at Sint Lucas School of Arts in Antwerpen. I am specialised in painting, drawing, experimental films, installations, language, sound and curating. In other words, I am a multidisciplinary artist. I understand the artistic practice as a way to understand ourselves and the situations which surrounds us. In my classes I don't teach how to do Art, but as how to say something through your artistic work. With me you can work independently, with a coach who will challenge you with some assignments and giving feedback to your personal concerns. In addition, you will learn how to work with several mediums, preparing your own material: paintings, canvases, and so on. You will not only receive individual coaching but as encourage you to look other artists or take into account other references connected with your concerns. Finding, discussing and retaking solutions together are the core of my classes.

I am an artist and philosopher from Amsterdam currently living in Antwerp. I studied in London where I acquired a BA from Art Academy London and a BA in philosophy from St Mary's University London. Artistic development starts by identifying your artistic interest. As artists, we don’t always know why we draw and paint the things that we do. Yet they are not random. What captivates us or draws us towards certain artworks? This might be the tonal way in which light reflects, structural forms or mathematical division. The point being, is that we all have such aesthetic interests and step 1 is finding out what interests you! Step 2 is helping you express your interests through painting techniques, styles and materiality. But it all starts with you. What do you want to say? And how? I will help you do this through discussion, looking at your previous work (if you have any), introducing you to a LARGE variety of artists, potentially copying their styles. I adjust my classes according to your needs. The goal is simple: to come to understand your artistic interest, help you find techniques to express them and develop your artistic language. (Please note that just because you have found an artistic interest and a way to express it, it does not mean that you must do only one thing for the rest of your life. It is the downfall of creativity to repeat and paint the same way over and over again. Instead, allow your interests to drive your creativity. Let it be the starting point, venture out and discover it from various angles and ways of expressing it. My aim is to make complex topics accessible and rewarding to learn. For students who are more interested in self-expression and storytelling, we work with creative expression exercises. These activities are more emotional and intuitive, designed to help students put themselves into their art, exploring their own identity, style and imagination. In this class, students will explore foundational techniques the essentials of line, form, shading, and texture. Throughout the course, you'll experiment with different mediums—pencil, charcoal, ink—and gain hands-on experience with a variety of subjects, from still lifes to landscapes and portraits.

Basic fundamentals of drawing all starts with shapes and shadows. Breaking down images into shapes and basic gestures will aid in the final product looking clean. You will learn how to break down images (ie; people, animals, buildings, etc) into basic shapes, and managable chunks.

In my work, I use both traditional techniques (watercolor, painting, pencils, engraving) and digital techniques to create illustrations and animations! With my 13 years of experience in the field, and 7 years of teaching experience, I can offer you a program based on your specific objectives. For example: - Start or improve in observational drawing, life model, sketching, painting... to have better knowledge in academic drawing, or create your own illustrations. - Create a portfolio/book to apply to art and animation film schools.

You will always need a blank piece of paper and a pencil for class. Some people say that you need fancy materials to make art but that is far from the truth. Using what you have at home is perfect! We will be taking notes each class on techniques and we will also be doing sketches every class. On the first day of class we will start by setting goals for something we want to learn more about in art. I will work with you to gradually get to that place you want. Art is something that you learn just like everything else, putting in the work is part of learning and is needed in the subject of art as well!
