Flute lesson in Brussels for beginner and intermediate students

- Courses offered in English and/or French. - Exploration of pieces belonging to the 4 main movements of classical music: baroque, classical, romantic and contemporary. - Development of technique, notably sound (tone and vibrato) as well as breathing. - More modern approach, i.e. lessons focused less on music theory and more on musical sensitivity as well as technique, which, I find, are essential to fully experience the happiness provided by music. - If you have a piano at home, I would be happy to accompany you so that you can discover chamber music as well as the techniques necessary for playing in a duo. It's another way of experiencing the transverse flute which is very fun and interesting for your musical development. - All levels welcome! My primary goal is to make you love your classes; I therefore adapt to you, your desires and your needs.

The flute is a very delicate and "light" instrument but is much more than that! With this lessons I want to share my knowledge about this amazing instrument. I will adapt myself to the level of the different students and will also adjust my way of teaching. We can work on sound, embochure, posture, music theory, studies and for sure melodies and even duets! I have experience in different styles such as barroque music, classical, romantique, comtemporary, chôrinho, etc... (we can choose what fits you better, or maybe do them all!). I also play the piccolo, wich would be a nice "candy" for you to try on, if you dont play it already. The main goal after all, is that you are comfortable and excited to explore and learn new things while having fun!

I offer private flute lessons at home, from beginner to advanced level, for all ages and levels. In June 2022, I graduated with honors from the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel in the class of Prof. Carlos Bruneel, principal flute at the Théâtre de la Monnaie. In short, my teaching experience: - since September 2022, I have been teaching flute at the European School of Brussels IV - from 2021 to 2022, I taught in a private music school in Waterloo - in July 2020, I qualified to teach in Italy by obtaining the 30 ECTS valid for teaching in pedagogy, psychology of learning and evaluation methods and techniques - from 2015 to 2017, I worked alongside my former teacher Vincenzo Gallo at the "G. Nicolini" Conservatory in Piacenza for two years as a class tutor. I find teaching very stimulating and exciting, so don't hesitate to contact me!

Cathy started her music teaching career in 2015, and has been teaching students from beginner to grade 8, aged from 6 to 35 years old. She always welcomes students who wish to explore more about music, building up playing the flute as their hobby, as well as growing together with them as their role models. She feels very glad and blessed to be the teacher of her students, as well as being their sister, witnessing their growth and becoming a good friend to them. In the lesson, she would always love to play studies, and exercise, as well as play flute pieces and duets together with the students. Transverse flute lessons from a qualified music teacher and concert flutist who has successfully taught more than 200 pupils and students for 30 years. The teaching material is always personalized and ranges from baroque and classical to jazz and improvisation. The lessons last approximately 65 minutes. As the lessons progress, the most important thing is that making music is fun while learning. Both beginners (who cannot yet read music) and professionals who also have a diploma are welcome. Newcomers who have already learned the instrument but haven't had it in their hands for several years are of course welcome. We also play together regularly - voluntarily, of course - to play beautiful chamber music such as duos, trios and quartets.

Turkish reed flute is an essential instrument of Turkish Classcial Music. It has a deep and dense culture dating from 13. century around. If you want to learn about how to perform it you first need a teacher educated by masters on this field. As of many teachers you can find online but you make sure that not every tutor meets with traditional style. Solfege and method are inseperable parts of the lessons. So for beginners and intermediate students must follow a compotent tutor to learn about the way of classic form.

I have played the flute for more than 20 years, and have been teaching since 2011. I offer flute lessons to children aged 8 and up, and adults at all levels from beginners to post Grade 8. I also teach recorder to younger beginners- I find this is a good stepping stone for younger children as it's more comfortable for smaller beginners to hold, and easier to make a sound on. Learn to pass exams or just for fun- many of my students achieve highly in ABRSM and Trinity grades, but some prefer not to take exams and this is fine too. Whatever your level, one to one tuition means that I can tailor my teaching to your needs as a flute player, and my teaching takes into account the reasons you learn an instrument, encompassing a wide variety of repertoire. I also teach music theory- lots of students come to me to help prepare for Grade 5 theory, and I also teach higher theory grades.
