I offer a holistic method of teaching – believing that music matters and learning it leads to a greater appreciation of our world well beyond the realm of clefs and scales. I am happy to help students complete their ABRSM Graded Examinations as well as teach those interested in more casual study of the flute.

Alexandra has performed professionally for over 14 years and enjoys a varied career including orchestra playing, session work for film, studio recordings, small ensemble performance and music for special events.

Based in London, she currently performs as the principal flute in the Camden Phiharmonia Orchestra, Quintakulah Woodwind Quintet, St Bartholomew's Orchestra and the Ancient and Modern Consort. She regularly deps for other orchestras.

After completing her BM in Music Performance with highest honours (summa cum laude) at the University of Southern Maine in 2008, she received her MMus degree in Ethnomusicology from the School of Oriental and African Studies in London.

In Maine, Alexandra was the principal flute of the Southern Maine Symphony Orchestra and part of the Mimosa Woodwind Quintet. She has studied privately with Jean Rosenblum, Doug Worthen and Aubrie Dionne, and has performed in the master classes of Emmanuel Pahud, Jeffery Khaner, Lisa Hennessy, and Emily Gerace-Stanek. In 2009 she was awarded with the Bay Chamber Concerts' Summer Music Woodwind Prize.

I'm here for you!
I'm a qualified piano teacher with over 7 years of experience. I provide easy to follow and joyful lessons for beginners and advanced students. I have experience in ABRSM exams and I'm happy to prepare you. I am applying the Russian piano technique, as I myself have been taught by my Russian teacher who studied at the Tchaikovsky conservatoire.
I understand that not everyone enjoys strict teaching, thus I am flexible enough and can adapt according to my student's needs!

I'm also here for you to teach you how to play the piano and enjoy your music! If you're not into classical music, I can also teach you how to play pop/rock covers and soundtracks

P.S. I normally live in London and can travel to student's houses. However, due to the current CoVid-19 situation, I can only provide online lessons until further notice.

I began my education at the Royal Academy of Music and continued at the Royal College of Music in London gaining 3 performance degrees with first class honours. I enjoy teaching and have experience in giving private violin lesson from beginner to advanced levels of varying ages. I have been invited to teach publicly at the University of Costa Rica and am an Ambassador of The Benedetti Foundation. I can also teach students Music Theory i.e. for the purpose of ABRSM exams or GCSE Music

You wish:

- deepen your theoretical knowledge.

Knowledge of an instrument is not necessary to start producing music.

With me, you’ll discover the countless ways the piano can express music. You’ll explore compositions from various composers, periods, and styles, from the classical works of Mozart, Bach, Debussy, and Chopin, to modern pieces, pop songs, and jazz, including Shostakovich. Through eurhythmics exercises, you'll not only play but also feel the music by moving with it, enhancing your musical knowledge and deepening your emotional connection to sound. If you're unsure about moving with the music, don’t worry—I’ll be there to guide you in finding a way to enjoy and love music. I've played the piano since I was five years old and hold a Bachelor’s degree from the Geneva Music University. More recently, I completed my MA in Interdisciplinary Dance Performance at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. While my teaching experience mainly focuses on children aged 5-10, I am also well-versed in providing music training and piano lessons for adults. Since the age of 8, I have been exploring the world of music, particularly the flute. I took flute lessons at the Niedermeyer Conservatory in Issy Les Moulineaux for 10 years and was a flautist in the junior symphony orchestra for 5 years.

Fascinated by the flute, I participated in music competitions, such as "Prodiges" in Paris, obtaining a distinction (18/20) in 2018. I also participated in a music Masterclass at UDELM (Lions Summer University of Music) in Embrun (Hautes-Alpes - 05 France) in 2016.

I offer flute lessons for all ages and skill levels:
• Beginners: You will learn to control your breathing. I will guide you step by step to produce a sound on the flute and gradually begin playing pieces.
• Intermediate: You will work on pieces adapted to your level. The goal is to refine your technique and reach a more advanced level.
• Advanced: You will develop precision and technique in each piece of music. Explore tempo variations and deepen musical interpretation through nuances.

I organize lessons according to the student's musical desires; with me, there is no doubt, I make sure that learning is fun and exciting.
