I am a classical singer (mezzosoprano) from Barcelona. I started my musical studies playing the violin and the viola. I was singing in choirs from I was 5, and there my love for singing started. I studied my bachelor degree in The Neteherlands with the teacher Hanneke de Witt, I have a double degree: performence and pedagogy. Now I am going to do my master with Marcel Bonne.
My main goal when I teach is to help the student to find the freedom on the vocal, physical and mental expression. I like to work on music but also on tecninc. I think it is a very important part to find the freedom. I ike to create a lovely space when I teach where the student can find the support and the freedom to try out different things. I have a lot of patience, as a singer you need to be patient and to try again and again.
I love to help the students to find their way to teach themselves so they don't need that much lessons in the futur.

Hello!
My name is Judit and I am from Barcelona.
I am 24 years old and currently I am studying my master in the musikhochschule in Basel.
My favorite repetorire is opera because I like to play while I am singing. I really like acting and finding out what does the character wants and why is he or she singing the aria, this way is much funnier and easier to express the music.
I think imagination is a very important part if you want to learn singing.
I like to create a very open space in my lesons so the student can feel comfortable to try out things very oppenly.
It's nice to take it seriously but not too much, it's very important to have fun while you are learning!

Education

Mezzo soprano Judit Subirana (Barcelona, 1995), started her musical career playing the violin and the viola. She was part of several choirs in Catalonia (Spain) where she developed her interest in singing.
Judit had her first singing lessons with Mariona Pallach with whom she studied modern repertoire. Her next teacher, Marta Garcia, inspired her to start classical singing. Judit moved to The Netherlands to study at the Prins Claus conservatoire in Groningen with Marcel Boone. She finished her bachelor degree with Hanneke de Wit as a voice teacher with a 9.
She is currently studying her master degree in the Musikhochschule in Basilea with the teacher Marcel Boone and doing a minor in old music with Rosa Dominguez.
She did several master vocal master classes with Margreet Honig, Salomé Kamer and Barbara Bonney. Judit also worked with Paul Triepels (breathing), Elsina Jansen (drama), Nico van der Meel (Early Music) and Eelko Moolenaar (lied)
Judit Subriana performed as a solist in: Elias (Mendelssohn), Musikalische exequiem (Schutz) , Jesu meine Freude (Bach), Unser Leben ist ein Schatten (Bach), Requiem (Kim André Arnesen) , Gottes Zeit ist die allerbeste Zeit (Bach) and Dvorak’s Mass in D with conductors as: Joop Schets, Merlijn Wackers, Marcel Joosen, Marion Bluthard.
Judit was a member of the 2017 International Choir Academy (Lubeck , Germany).
In 2017, Judit performed Verdi’s Requiem in Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), with Groot Omroepkoor, conducted by Edo de Waart.

I am singer, classically trained with a main focus in early music and voice embodiment. I also studied recorder, clarinet and musicology.

As a teacher and performer, I focus on a joyful, healthy and technically skilled way of singing. I focus not only on the sound production, but also on body posture, relaxation and organic movement. An happy and relaxed body creates a beautiful, natural and relaxed sound.
We choose the repertoire together and work together towards developing your voice, your expressivity, text and style interpretation at your fullest potential.

I have experience teaching several music genres, from classical, jazz, pop, folk music and even extended vocal techniques like growls. I am quite open to the students requests and always willing to research deeper and expand my vocal vocabulary.

Singing is a vulnerable, intimate and also communal act. Sadly, our modern world has mystified it into the sphere of the "born-talent" ideal, which often scares people from even trying to sing. I find this phenomena a cruel and exclusivist perspective on singing.

I consider singing an universal right, and we should all be unashamed of singing, be it in your bathtub, while walking on the street, in a dinner with friends, or in the next open stage at your local bar.

We all have the capacity and the right to sing.
If anybody has told you that you can't sing, they were wrong. Like any skill, you can learn it.
And if you sing, you, your body, and your soul will be happier.

One of my students once said: "You come for a singing lesson and you discover something new about who you are". I think that would summarize well the space I try to create in my lessons.

Singer trained at the Schola Cantorum of Basel (from medieval chant to the 20th century), I offer a general singing course: basic vocal technique (posture, breath work, sound work), discovery of different repertoires (depending on the student's tastes; pop repertoires also possible), work on interpretation. I can accompany the student on the keyboard. I work with people of all ages, beginners or not. The goal is to progress in a climate of trust.

You can also contact me for music theory lessons only (reading notes and rhythm, deciphering, notions of music theory, ear work).

I finally give piano lessons to beginners.

I can give the course in French or English, German and Spanish are also possible.
Lessons can take place at my home or at the student's home.

Everybody can sing!
In my classes I will guide you to find your own voice, through vocal exercises and movements, self-perception and listening. My desire is that the student enjoys his or her voice and singing without hurting or using extra tension and specially that he/she has the tools to know the instrument, so to know yourself.
In addition to vocal technique, I offer interpretation tools and music theory through repertoire work (songs) so that the student can interpret different styles and sing along with other musicians.
I studied vocal technique with teachers from the Rabine Institute in Germany and I have also taken a lot of courses of dance, theater and Alexander Technique that I use for my lessons in order to have an holistic approach of the voice and our body as an instrument. Let's have fun!

Learning to sing is a process that comes from within; a story that makes you take the step to improve yourself; to find a way to discover what you believe is best for you and your voice.

My name is Bianca and I am 24 years old. Having grown up with music from my very first steps, I began learning the piano at the age of 4. My long piano studies, beginning with the Suzuki method (adapted for young children) and ending with a Master's degree at the Conservatoire Supérieur National de Musique et de Danse de Paris, have forged a solid piano technique and school, enabling me to help all types of students, beginners and professionals alike! My studies at the Schola Cantorum de Paris and the CRR de Saint-Maur led to five years at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, where I obtained a Bachelor's and Master's degree under the direction of Claire Désert, enabling me to experiment with different schools of piano technique, in particular the Russian method.
The many masterclasses I attended with internationally renowned teachers such as Tatiana Zelikman, Lilya Zilberstein and Ruben Dalibaltayan enriched my musical knowledge, which I'd now like to share with you!

My passion for opera singing was born around the age of ten and has only grown with age, leading me to start my Bachelor's degree in opera singing at the Musik-Akademie Basel in 2021 in Marcel Boone's class.
