What Can You Expect From Lessons With Jack?
All of the lessons that Jack delivers are student-centred. This means that they can range from fun lessons that help develop your music-making at your own pace, to structured lessons that help with exam preparation.
Guitar
These lessons focus on understanding the fundamentals of the instrument up to advanced techniques and practices to develop guitarists at all stages of their creative journeys. Jack's experience as a performer in a wide range of styles mean you can expect lessons to cover genres as far reaching as pop and mainstream to alternative rock and indie, as well as jazz and classical guitar.
Songwriting
Lessons in songwriting with Jack balance encouraging student creativity with understanding the craft and theory behind great songwriting. The outcome of these lessons will be a confidence in songwriting workflow for the student, allowing them to express themselves fluently.
Production
Utilising Jack's experience studying Music Technology these lessons focus on learning how to record and mix music in a creative way that works with the music students want to make.

Guitars are available during in person lessons but students require their own instrument to be able to practice in between lessons.

Over
Jack has been a performing guitarist for over 10 years in a variety of ensembles. He has played for musicals, jazz ensembles, The African Music Experience and as a soloist. These ensembles have given Jack a complete understanding of reading music, improvising and writing guitar parts for songs and complete pieces of music.
As well as writing for guitar, Jack has written for concert, film and video games. His work in this area includes small ensembles, full orchestra and electronic music production. To bring these works to life Jack also has extensive experience working with music technology to record and edit his own music and produce work for other artists.
Jack has a passion for teaching students who have an interest in a wide range of music across all levels. His teaching style is adapted to meet the interests and needs of students to ensure they are excited about lessons and practice in between!
