Physics and math for high school and university students

Salvation! My name is André and I have just finished my Doctorate in Physics at EPFL. I offer support courses in Mathematics and Sciences for primary school students. My methods are characterized by personalized support for each student, while considering their objectives. I help students in difficulty to succeed in their learning, but also those who want to reach a level of excellence and perhaps go a little beyond the school programs. The courses will be adapted to each individual case. I prioritize understanding to the detriment of memorization and I help students develop their mathematical / scientific reasoning, in order to make them more autonomous and give them the bases for their future studies.

Student in the first year of a master's degree in environment at EPFL and having followed scientific studies in France, I propose a school support in science targeted so as to advance the student so that it fills its gaps or even take the advanced. The session will be prepared before each meeting and a small personal work will be requested for the next session.

Second year master's student in Energy Science at EPFL, and holder of a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering at the same school, I offer mathematics and physics courses to students from EPFL, UNIL, gymnasium or college. During my studies, I built a solid scientific foundation, but also accumulated a lot of experience as a private teacher. In fact, for 4 years already, I have been teaching: - to first year bachelor's and master's students at EPFL in the mechanical, microtechnology, computer science and biological fields - to UNIL students in the biology, economics and maths sectors - to students in the gymnasium. - to middle school students These experiences allowed me to develop a better approach during my courses. I first try to understand what the student has understood, and what is not well understood. To do this, I suggest doing several exercises together. Then, I re-explain in a simpler way the part in which the student is having difficulty. Finally, I let the student do a new exercise on his own to see if the concept has been acquired. I am very happy to be able to help students in difficulty to progress, because for me the sharing of knowledge is very important. In particular, I was able to help students with weaknesses in mathematics and physics to pass their end-of-year exams.

Hello, and I am a student at EPFL. I offer my services mainly for math lessons, but I can also help in French, physics and SVT. Indeed, I am a former student of a French high school. Due to my excellent academic results, I had the opportunity to help many groups of students. I had my baccalaureate with an average of 18.18, the result of my work and my regular involvement. In addition, both of my parents are math teachers, so I always used to help them with their private lessons. Finally, my schedule is very flexible, so I can organize myself to be available any day at any time.

Various concerns can arise throughout the course of schooling. Problems of understanding, rigor, desire to go faster or further than the course program ... I design my lessons with students (from secondary to primary), in order to identify the problems at school, and provide a more appropriate education than that provided by the teachers. Subsequently, children will therefore be better able and trained to meet the criteria required within the school system.

Thousands of years ago, a thought arose in the mind of one of the most selfless humans I can imagine: “God lives everywhere — even in a simple stone.” At first glance, it may seem strange, even naïve, to build an entire culture around such a belief. But look deeper — it wasn’t just mysticism. It was wisdom. Without such ideas, the selfish instincts of humans might have destroyed much of nature long ago. Take the great Banyan tree in my own backyard. If not for the belief that “God lives in all things,” that tree might have been cut down generations ago. And with it, countless childhood memories — mine, and thousands of others like me — would have been lost. This is why, in ancient times, temples were often built near old trees. Our ancestors, with their brilliant insight into human nature, understood a harsh truth: “We are our own worst enemy.” To counter this, they used faith itself as a strategy — channeling the idea of God to protect our co-dependents in nature and to preserve the ecological balance. It was never really the irregularly shaped stone that saved the Banyan tree — it was the faith embedded in our culture. If a single idea could protect entire ecosystems and prevent our own extinction, then that idea was undeniably powerful. So powerful that it etched itself into human memory, passing through generations like a genetic imprint of wisdom.
