This masterclass is hosted pro-music coach Marli(ii) - with over 10 years of experience as a music coach, Marli helps you find inspiration, introspection and innovation in your songwriting journey during the masterclass. Marli has her Bachelor Degree in music from Hofstra University (NY), holds music accolades from the National Association of Music Merchants and from HARMAN JBL, has live performance experience across reputable music festivals, tours, and performed as the opening act for Portugal. Marliii is a multi-faceted vocalist, instrumentalist, songwriter, producer and (sometimes) DJ from New York who is now living in San Diego, California. Marliii has been playing guitar for 20 years, and plays other instruments fluently such as the mandolin, keys/synths, bass guitar and ukulele. Marliii has been writing and recording original music around various NY studios and performed at renown events such as Bamboozle Music Festival (Asbury Park, NJ), the Long Island Famous Food Festival and NOS Alive (Lisbon, Portugal).

Marliii earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Hofstra University, where she majored in Music and Public Relations. While in college, Marliii took audio production as an independent study and was the Programming Director of Music at radio station 88.7 FM WRHU. She was also the recipient of the NAMM President’s Innovation Award and the HARMAN JBL #NewFaceinTech grant with thanks to the 1,000 Dreams Fund. With these grants, Marliii had the opportunity to amplify her home recording studio, which led to the creation of Marliii’s debut EP Awake & i.

Marliii continues to advocate for more diversity and inclusion in STEAM (with the A standing for the Arts), while empowering musicians as an independent music coach by providing insight about the science, tech, engineering and mathematics of music/sound with focal points around guitar, piano and voice.

Marliii debuted the integration of her passions for tech and music when she performed at Dreamforce 2022, where she opened for Portugal. The Man, and which was headlined by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. During her sets, Marliii incorporates original tracks and classic covers with elements of rock, jazz, blues, folk and EDM— with the intention to introduce her listeners to an eclectic palette of musical influences.
