I help students gain confidence through doing things in a step by step method where one skill builds on the next. And I teach with an emphasis on a relaxed manner of playing so that you can make playing a stringed instrument enjoyable.
I love to work with beginners and I also have the playing skills to teach even the most advanced students.Viola is my main instrument, but I also play violin on a high level. I can teach cello in the beginning to intermediate level.
I will meet students where they are and take them to the next level. I will always greet students warmly regardless of if they have had a chance to practice this week or not, I work from a place of inspiration, not intimidation.
So, whether you are wanting to play classical music or jazz or anything in between. I can help you get there! I prefer students to be age 7 or older for the way I like to teach and I welcome adults at all skill levels.

I’ve been teaching private lessons on violin, viola, cello and piano with students ages 6-75 since 1992. In those years, I have helped hundreds of students to develop a love of music and enjoyment of playing.
In my last few years living in the Seattle area, US, I had 50 students per year in private lessons.
Previous to full time private lessons, I also taught general music, choir and orchestra classes for 15 years in public and private schools, mostly in Bremerton, WA, US. In Washington state my orchestra and private lesson students were know for winning top honors in competitions and performances around the region.
I also was a guest teacher for music competitions and with retreats for other orchestra classes in the region.
I spent one year teaching at Kodaikanal International School in Tamil Nadu, India. There I taught all the string students in private lessons and orchestra classes for middle school and high school.
In 2015, I moved to Sweden, where I now live and have taught at the International English School for 3 years and then again started my own business doing music lessons, life coaching and creating music albums of songs to go with my children's books.
I love working with kids of all ages, but I’m especially passionate about getting beginner string students (younger and adults) paired with an instrument they love and helping them to play with good technique from the start so they can enjoy the sound and avoid injury.
