About me: Dr. Celestine Preetham is founder of Caring Machines, on a mission towards sustainable artificial intelligence. He was born (1992) in Chennai, schooled in SBOA Anna Nagar and St. John's Besant Nagar, and self-studied to secure an All India Rank of 45 in JEE-2009 (with AIR 6 in the mathematics section). Given his love for applied physics, he pursued his B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Madras and landed a final year internship at the MESA+ institute of Nanotechnology, University of Twente, the Netherlands. He was employed to continue his research there from 2013-2018 and was awarded a PhD for his thesis on "Evolving Networks to Have Intelligence Realized at Nanoscale". He has been a visiting scientist at the Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai in 2019 and a postdoctoral scientist in the Bernoulli Institute for Artificial Intelligence, University of Groningen, the Netherlands from 2020-2024.
