I've been teaching for 20 years in Secondary Schools. In my most recent position, I have developed a school wide study skills programme to help students to become more independent learners.

Education

PGCE in Secondary Science attained in 2005. PhD in Chemistry, 2000. BSc Joint Honours in Chemistry and Computer Science 1996. Attended Secondary School in the UK and attained 3 A-Levels and 9 GCSEs.

National Professional Qualifications in Senior and Middle Leadership. SSAT Accredited Lead Practitioner.

You’ll improve on grammar difficulties, vocabulary, pronunciation & exam preparation.

Tutoring can also incorporate support in cultural/topical themes depending on personal interests or school study foci.

Tutor a recent graduate in French from the University of Edinburgh

I offer private lessons in Chemistry to school students following French, British, IB or American systems. Being a PhD-holder in Chemistry from Imperial College London, I also offer support to chemistry students at university level.
Classes are delivered online via Zoom.

In my classes:
- I encourage asking relevant questions and I am willing to repeat explanations as much as necessary.
- I use technological tools and web interfaces to provide visual support to verbal explanations, which I consider a key part of effective teaching.
- I share my own, tailored, class notes and encourage the student to take notes him/herself as practice.
- We solve problems and I also assign homework and correct it in the following lesson.

After my classes, I share my notes with my students to help them retain the information and revise.
